Well since I seeming skipped recapping last weeks WSX episode on MTV I figured I would put up a recap of last weeks action as well as what went down this week. Apparently MTV is airing a “sneak peek” episode on Friday nights but the official debut of the matches are on Tuesdays. If you didn’t catch the action last night and want to watch it on Tueday stop reading now.

Last week featured a singles match as well as a 10 man WSX rumble. In the singles matchup Jack Evans beat Matt Sydal (w/ Lizzy Valentine). But for the real match of the night 10 WSX wrestlers went head to head in a WSX rumble to compete for two contracts, each of which gives the wrestler a chance at the titles. The match was actually not that bad with 6 Pac and Vampiro winning meaning they get title shots (resluts later in this post).

So we move on to week 2 of WSX. Opening match of the evening is a singles tilt between the Human Tornado with his pimp gimmick against Luke Hawx. Now maybe I was left out of the loop but apparently the Human Tornado has “Balls of Steel”. Well they helped him reverse a Hawx attack and hit a Tornado DDT to pick up the three count. Lots of extracuricular activity after this one.

First, Aaron Aguilera comes out to attack Hawx for his involvement in last weeks rumble match. Then, Al Katrazz and Kaos join the fray and the postmatch fighting ends when Hawx puts Kaos through a table and he and Al Katrazz leave as victors despite Hawx loss.

WSX also debuted tag team action this week with a match between That 70s Team and Team Dragon Gate. That 70s Team came out with the win after Joey Ryan hit a Super 70s Superkick for the pin. Dragon Gate got the last laugh though when they smashed a disco ball in the ring before exiting the ring. WSX is bringing a rather large roster of tag teams so I would not be surprised to see a tag title introduced sometime in the future.

Before the main event Vampiro pulled out a coffin as he has in the past and then the main event between him and 6 Pac gets under way. The match seemed to be shifting towards 6 Pac winning the title until Vampiro got the former DX member onto the ring apron. Vamiro reverses momentum with a low blow and then landed a piledriver into the coffin which was apparently filled with explosives. Anyways rough end to the match as the ref apparently counted to three with Vampiro on top crowning him WSX champion.

So WSX set up some really good feuds this week and next weeks matches are already known (unlike WWe which keeps them pretty secret). We will be seeing The Filth and The Fury take on The Trailer Park Boyz next week in tag action. In another tag match for next week Los Ponchos Guapos will face Luke Hawx and Al Katrazz. In a singles match Jack Evans will face an undetermined opponent.

A few notes about WSX. It is not necessarily “no rules” but I have yet to see any DQs. Also, pin falls can come anywhere in the arena including, according to the announcers, in their booth. Also for those interested in catching more WSX action visit the official website to catch an additional 30-minutes every week.

Well SmackDown answered some questions and set up matches that will probably answer others.

This weeks SmackDown was live as opposed to the typical Tuesday tapings. This meant no leaks of twists or anything of that nature. As far as matches went Chris Benoit, the U.S. Champion, retained his title against Finlay. Deuce and Domino defeated Paul London and Brian Kendrick, the current Tag Champs, in a non-title match. The victory throws them into a possible title match at No Way Out.

Other matches had Mr. Kennedy topping Vito and Miz beating Matt Hardy. Not sure where the Miz fits in right now on the show but I hope they give him some direction so he doesn’t seem so thrown in on every episode. The big news of the night wasn’t the matches however but what transpired between them.

Batista took to the ring calling out Undertaker to provide him and the world and answer to who he will be challenging at Wrestlemania 23. Instead of the Dead Man showing up John Cena made a special appearance on SmackDown seeking an answer to the same question. Undertaker then came to ringside only to be interupted by Shawn Michaels who wanted Undertaker to face him at Wrestlemania.

With all four men asking questions and getting no answers Mr. McMahon, who has appeared on every WWE show since the Rumble, showed up to provide a response to everyones questions. The answer: A tag team match at No Way Out with John Cena and tag team partner Shawn Michaels facing Batista and Undertaker. Wow! I have to give WWE props on setting up storylines so this match could happen.

This match will set up the Wrestlemania 23 matches with Undertaker most likely facing Batista and Shawn Michaels taking on Cena but we will just have to wait a few weeks for the PPV when these can become announced matches (hopefully that is).

Also after Kennedy’s win over Vito GM Theodore Long announced he would get a rematch for the World Heavyweight Title against Batista next week on SmackDown. Also the Kane/Booker rivalry from the Royal Rumble heated up when Kane cleared the ring during one of Bookers ceremonies. I wouldn’t be surprised to see these two face of at No Way Out as well.

On the bad side of thing Vickie Guerrero announced should be returning to SmackDown soon. What a shame too, I thought she was done with the show.

Rob Van Dam will challenge current champion Bobby Lashley for the ECW title tonight on the first ECW on SciFi of 2007. RVD earned the opportunity after fans selected him to challenge Lashley.
Not much more released about tonight matches although you can expect the Hardcore Holly and CM Punk rivalry to continue, more from the Great Khali and Davairi, and a possible feud involving RVD, Test, and Sabu.
