Farmar And Morrison To Become Free Agents

The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to let Jordan Farmar and Adam Morrison join the growing pool of free agents at the end of the 2009 -2010 season.
It’s no secret that Farmar has had a more successful NBA career than Morrison. Known as a three-point shooter and for his ability to get a rise out of opponents, Farmar wants to have more than just a supporting role on the court. He currently makes $1.9 million, and stands to make a lot more with another NBA team. While Farmar may not have the clout or talent that other free agent …read more

Celtics Suffocate Bobcats, Improve to 2-0

The Boston Celtics were NBA champions a short time ago. If you had forgotten, their strong 2-0 start to the 2009-10 NBA campaign should have reminded you. After beating the Cleveland Cavaliers to begin the campaign, the Celtics destroyed the Charlotte Bobcats by a final score of 92-59.
The 59 points scored by the Bobcats represented an all-time low for an NBA team in their season opener. Gerald Wallace led the way for Charlotte with ten points, while they managed to shoot just 31.1% from the field and 52% from the foul line.
When Boston wasn’t playing defense, their offense was clicking. …read more

Raja Bell Could Be Out for the Season

Raja Bell, the defensive and three-point shooting specialist for the Charlotte Bobcats, may be forced to miss the rest of the season due to a wrist injury. Although he’s getting a second opinion, Bell’s first opinion told him that he needed wrist surgery that would keep him out most — if not all — of the 2009-10 NBA season.
The loss of Bell would be a big blow to the Bobcats. While his skills have diminished, the 33-year-old swingman is still an important cog to Charlotte’s squad. He’s arguably the team’s best defender and his perimeter shooting spreads the court.
Without Bell, …read more

Raymond Felton Re-signs with the Bobcats

Raymond Felton entered this summer wanting to land a long-term deal. However, due to his restricted status and the fact that the Charlotte Bobcats don’t have much money to spend, he had to settle for re-signing with the Bobcats for the qualifying offer. According to reports, the deal is worth $5.5 million over one season.
Last season, the 25-year-old Felton averaged 14.2 points, 6.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 37.6 minutes per game. He played in all 82 games and shot 40.8% from the field, 28.5% from three-point range and 80.5% from the free throw line.
Although Felton is talented, there’s question …read more

Where Will Allen Iverson End Up?

Allen Iverson, once regarded as one of the best players in the NBA, is still an unrestricted free agent. The fact that Iverson is having a difficult time finding work is a surprise to many — especially considering that Iverson averaged 26.4 points per game as recently as the 2007-08 season.
However, with training camp just around the corner, three teams have emerged as the leading contenders for Iverson: the Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Bobcats and Miami Heat.
The Grizzlies appear to be the favorite at this point. On Wednesday, the team admitted that they had officially made an offer to Iverson. NBA …read more

Iverson Close To A Deal With Charlotte

If you asked Allen Iverson five years ago if he ever pictured himself playing for the Charlotte Bobcats, he might have laughed in your face.
Now, if Iverson wants to have a chance to play basketball for the 2009-2010 season he’s going to have to take whatever he can get. And that’s no laughing matter.
SI.com reports that Iverson is close to signing a deal with Charlotte. There are a few “complications” that need to get ironed out.
I find it interesting that Iverson is going to be reunited with coach Larry Brown. Again, if you asked Iverson five years ago if he …read more

Ryan Hollins Signs Offersheet with T’Wolves

Ryan Hollins, who finished last season with the Dallas Mavericks, signed an offersheet with the Minnesota Timberwolves. While the Mavs technically have seven days to match the offersheet, insiders believe that there’s zero chance that Dallas will match. As a result, Hollins will play with the T’Wolves next season.
To begin his career, Hollins played for the Charlotte Bobcats. He was a second round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft and played with the Bobcats until getting traded to the Mavs in the middle of last season. In 27 games with the Mavs, the 7-footer out of UCLA averaged 2.9 points. …read more

Sean May Signs with the Kings

Sean May, who began his NBA career with the Charlotte Bobcats, has signed on to play with the Sacramento Kings. May reportedly received a one-year contract.
After being the 13th overall pick out of North Carolina in the 2005 draft, May has battled a number of injuries. In the last four seasons, he has played only 82 games.
May’s best season came during the 2006-07 campaign. In 35 games, May averaged 11.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.9 minutes per contest. Last year with the Bobcats, May averaged only 3.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game.

Allen Iverson Rumors and Destinations

On paper, the fact that Allen Iverson is a free agent would be big news. But after a poor season last year, the likely future Hall of Famer isn’t finding much of a market for his services. Here are some possible Allen Iverson destinations based of the most recent rumors:
Miami Heat
In Miami, Allen Iverson would be a very interesting partner in the backcourt for Dwyane Wade. With both players able to handle the ball and score, it’d make for an exciting tandem. If the Heat are will to pay the necessary money, Iverson is likely to end up in South …read more

Shannon Brown Finds A Home In L.A.

After being traded to his fourth team in three years, Shannon Brown may have finally found a home. The Charlotte Bobcats traded him and Adam Morrison to the Los Angeles Lakers halfway through the 2009 season, but this time he may actually stay with the team.
Brown stepped up the 2009 NBA playoffs and made significant contributions off the bench while Morrison continued to ride the pine.
Phil Jackson certainly had confidence in Brown’s play. And the Lakers‘ owner took notice. As a result, Brown will receive a two-year, $4.2 million contract with the second season at his option. If he wants …read more
