The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to let Jordan Farmar and Adam Morrison join the growing pool of free agents at the end of the 2009 -2010 season.

It’s no secret that Farmar has had a more successful NBA career than Morrison. Known as a three-point shooter and for his ability to get a rise out of opponents, Farmar wants to have more than just a supporting role on the court. He currently makes $1.9 million, and stands to make a lot more with another NBA team. While Farmar may not have the clout or talent that other free agent point guards might have, he’d be a decent addition to any roster.

Adam Morrison was the third pick in the 2006 NBA Draft but hasn't lived up to expectations.

As for Adam Morrison, there’s isn’t much else to say except — what the heck happened?? In 2006, Morrison was considered one of the best college basketball players in the country, along side J.J. Redick. He was selected third overall in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. But he never could quite live up to the hype of his college career. Now, he’s considered one of the top ten biggest draft duds of all time.

Personally, I feel that Morrison can still have a solid NBA career. He has often said that he wasn’t prepared for all the attention and hated being in the spotlight. While his defense is lackluster, he can still shoot the lights out. With the right team, the right coach, and the right system in place, I think he can find the motivation he needs in order to be successful.

When Boston wasn’t playing defense, their offense was clicking. Ray Allen led the way with 18 points, while Paul Pierce chipped in with 15 points, four assists and three rebounds. Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Shelden Williams were also in double figures for the Celtics.

The Bobcats were playing their first game of the season and head coach Larry Brown couldn’t be too impressed with what he saw from his team. Offense was going to be a weakness for Charlotte — but it wasn’t supposed to be this big of a weakness.

The Celtics will try to improve their record to 3-0 when they take on the Chicago BUlls on Friday night.

Without Bell, the Bobcats may opt to go with a lot of Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin in the backcourt at the same time. While both have spent a lot of time at point guard in their basketball careers, both Felton and Augustin can score well enough to play shooting guard.

Bell is currently looking for a way to avoid having the surgery. If he does, he may be out a matter of weeks rather than a matter of months.

Raymond Felton entered this summer wanting to land a long-term deal. However, due to his restricted status and the fact that the Charlotte Bobcats don’t have much money to spend, he had to settle for re-signing with the Bobcats for the qualifying offer. According to reports, the deal is worth $5.5 million over one season.

Although Felton is talented, there’s question as to whether the Bobcats view him as their long-term answer at point guard. He lacks true point guard instincts and his offensive game can be very streaky. His lack of an outside shot also limits his value.

Many scouts believe that D.J. Augustin, who will be entering his second season in the league, has a better chance of being a star at the point guard position. This coming season, it’ll be interesting to see if Felton can hang on to the point guard job or if Augustin will beat him out.

Next summer, Felton will be an unrestricted free agent and there’s a very good chance that he’ll end up signing with another team.

The fact that Iverson is having a difficult time finding work is a surprise to many — especially considering that Iverson averaged 26.4 points per game as recently as the 2007-08 season.

However, with training camp just around the corner, three teams have emerged as the leading contenders for Iverson: the Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Bobcats and Miami Heat.

The Grizzlies appear to be the favorite at this point. On Wednesday, the team admitted that they had officially made an offer to Iverson. NBA insiders believe that the deal could be worth about $3 million per season.

Iverson has said he’d love to play for head coach Larry Brown again, which is a reason why the Bobcats are looked to as a strong possibility. The Bobcats need scoring and the 34-year-old would be a good fit.

In Miami, Iverson would team with Dwyane Wade to form one of the most explosive backcourts in the NBA. The Heat definitely have interest but they don’t have much financial flexibility to offer Iverson much money.

Stay tuned. The answer to where Allen Iverson will end up will likely come within the next week.

Ryan Hollins, who finished last season with the Dallas Mavericks, signed an offersheet with the Minnesota Timberwolves. While the Mavs technically have seven days to match the offersheet, insiders believe that there’s zero chance that Dallas will match. As a result, Hollins will play with the T’Wolves next season.

To begin his career, Hollins played for the Charlotte Bobcats. He was a second round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft and played with the Bobcats until getting traded to the Mavs in the middle of last season. In 27 games with the Mavs, the 7-footer out of UCLA averaged 2.9 points. 2.3 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 9.6 minutes per game.

To go along with his ample height, Hollins is a very athletic player. He can run and jump about as well as any center in the league. What he lacks is skill and strength. His 230-pound frame still needs some muscle added to it.

With the T’Wolves, Hollins should fit in well. Minnesota needed a center to pair with Al Jefferson and Kevin Love — and Hollins is a center who could grow into a very valuable role.

After being the 13th overall pick out of North Carolina in the 2005 draft, May has battled a number of injuries. In the last four seasons, he has played only 82 games.

With the Kings, May will get a chance to put his NBA career back on track. Sacramento is rebuilding and could find room to play the 6-foot-9 power forward who is still just 25 years old. When completely healthy, May has shown a good touch around the rim, good rebounding ability and an above average feel for the game.

Here are some possible Allen Iverson destinations based of the most recent rumors:

Miami Heat
In Miami, Allen Iverson would be a very interesting partner in the backcourt for Dwyane Wade. With both players able to handle the ball and score, it’d make for an exciting tandem. If the Heat are will to pay the necessary money, Iverson is likely to end up in South Florida.

Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies have been open about their wish to sign Allen Iverson to a one-year contract. Even though he doesn’t seem like a great fit, Iverson would help sell tickets and could make Memphis a fun team to watch.

Charlotte Bobcats
Larry Brown has said he wouldn’t mind coaching Allen Iverson again. If Brown is being honest, Iverson could help the Bobcats put points on the board. The fact that Michael Jordan is calling the shots could help convince Iverson that Charlotte should be his new home.

As a result, Brown will receive a two-year, $4.2 million contract with the second season at his option. If he wants to build a permanent home in L.A., he’ll have the opportunity to do so. I’m sure he’s sick of bouncing from team to team. And settling in with the NBA Champs shouldn’t be too hard.
