Field Taking Shape for Quail Hollow

Tiger Woods announced this week that he will be competing in next week’s Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. It will be his first tournament since the Masters.

Woods will be joined by Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Vijay Singh, defending champion Anthony Kim (pictured above), Jim Furyk, and Masters champion Angel Cabrera.
The Quail Hollow Championship is April 30 – May 3 at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club. This is the seventh year for the event. Woods has competed four times.

Thanksgiving Day Hoops

Looking for something to watch on Thanksgiving Day as you have that second and third helping of homemade yams and stuffing?
You think that it’s time for the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions to stop playing on Thanksgiving Day (especially Detroit! They’re awful!).
And college football doesn’t float your boat? Please! It doesn’t even have a playoff system (at least Division I doesn’t).
The NBA and NHL? Talk to me after their all-star breaks.
There’s is hope for all of us with plenty of college basketball on television to fall asleep to after that big dinner.

We’ll See How Long This Lasts

Bob McKillop was given a contract extension through the 2015-16 season at Davidson.
Many of you will remember Davidson as the little engine that could in last season’s NCAA tournament. The tiny Charlotte, North Carolina school had a run that caused basketball brackets to be torn and shredded at jobs all over the nation.
The Wildcats came within a three-point shot of reaching the Final Four in a 59-57 loss to eventual champion Kansas.
But if anyone thinks that McKillop is actually going to stay at Davidson through 2015-16 is sadly mistaken. Well, you’re nuts!
