St. Louis Charter subscribers, take note: You now have eight new HD channels to enjoy. Starting officially May 15th, Charter will now add AMC HD (762), CNN HD (763), TLC HD (764), Animal Planet HD (765), Science Channel HD (766), Smithsonian Channel HD (767), The Movie Channel HD (793) and TBS HD (798) to your lineup. Now you can get more educational and entertainment in HD, although some might not like the educational programming.

Charter Communications just can’t seem to catch itself a break, can they? After some negative press after having profit losses and some bad PR, they are now affected by natural forces in California. The second round of the Santa Anna wildfires has burned/destroyed 12,000 feet of their main fiber optic cable in the area and, the ironic part, they were already making a “redundant path to make the company less vulnerable to fire damage.” Looks like you jinxed yourself, guys. Hopefully the cable will be replaced soon for those not affected by the fire yet.
