It&#8217;s no secret that Favre is not only the icon and hero of many &#8220;cheeseheads,&#8221; but also a living legend. The Packers are fine if Favre wants to come back, however, they would like him to come back as the number two quarterback.</p>
<p>Favre is seeking a release from the Packers in order to take his game to another team, where he can be the starting QB; not QB2 behind Aaron Rodgers.  I doubt that Favre (or any Packer fan) expects Rodgers to complete the entire season as the starting QB, especially if Favre is on the roster.</p>
<p>Maybe the Packers were just calling Favre&#8217;s bluff.  However, I can&#8217;t see #4 on the sideline as a backup.  He&#8217;s got a couple more good seasons left in that gunslinging arm.</p>
