It’s getting harder and harder to not take the Oklahoma City Thunder seriously. Although they are young, the Thunder keep piling up impressive wins. Their latest came on Monday in Chicago against the Bulls, who were riding a four-game winning streak.
The Bulls actually held a five-point lead at halftime but the Thunder utterly dominated the third quarter. Outscoring the Bulls 32-14 in the quarter, Oklahoma City was able to cruise to a 98-85 victory.
Russell Westbrook led the way for the Thunder, finishing with 29 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. He hit 13-of-24 field goal attempts and played …read more
Bobcats Shock Cavs, Win Two In A Row
January 4, 2010 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

With a 14 -18 record, the Charlotte Bobcats don’t have a lot to be excited about. They started the season 1-14 on the road, which is the worst road record in the NBA.
So when the Bobcats headed into Cleveland to play against LeBron James and the Cavs, a loss seemed almost inevitable. But the Bobcats flipped the script. The night before, they beat the Miami Heat in an impressive win on Miami’s home court. Their confidence must have been flying high, because they pulled off their second road win in row and topped the Cavs 91 -88.
The loss came as …read more
Vinny Del Negro Is About To Get Fired

Though he may say that he has no reason to be worried about his job, Vinny Del Negro has a lot to be worried about.
ESPN Chicago reported this morning that the decision to fire Del Negro has already been made. According to sources within the Chicago Bulls organization, the only reason why he hasn’t been fired is because the front office has yet to come up with a suitable replacement.
Seriously though, whoever replaces Del Negro can’t do much worse than he has done lately. The Bulls have essentially gone from a playoff contender to a dud under Del Negro’s watch. …read more

The Chicago Bulls have been searching for a spark to turn around their disappointing season. Perhaps Tyrus Thomas is the answering. Returning after missing 22 games, Thomas was a force off the bench as the Bulls beat the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 96-85.
In 32 minutes, Thomas went 10-for-17 and finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Those totals represented season-highs in points, rebounds and assists for Thomas.
Four of the five Bulls starters were in double figures, led by Joakim Noah’s 17 points, 18 rebounds and four blocked shots. Derrick Rose and Kirk …read more
Does LeBron James Need To Grow Up?
December 16, 2009 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

There’s been a lot of hoopla (no pun intended) in the NBA over the past couple of weeks about LeBron James and his river-dancing feet. Some remark that he’s just having fun, while others think he’s being childish and needs to grow up. Others take it a step further, saying this is the exact reason why King James has yet to win an NBA Championship — he’s not mature enough to take it seriously.
I guess it’s time to voice my opinion on the matter.
First, I have to give props to Joakim Noah for calling James out recently for his in-game …read more
Ron Artest Used To Sip Hennessy At Halftime
December 3, 2009 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

If you’ve ever wondered why Ron Artest would sometimes act like a complete fool during basketball games, it’s quite possible that it was directly related to the alcohol he would consume at halftime.
Yes, that’s right. Artest recently admitted to the Sporting News that he used to “drink Hennessy … at halftime.” He said that he kept it in his locker, and would just walk to the liquor store and get it.
The obvious question here is, why? Performance enhancing substances I could understand. But alcohol? It’s not like it helps you play any better.
Artest confessed that he drank while playing for …read more
Greg Oden Living Up to the Hype?

Greg Oden’s transition to the NBA hasn’t been nearly as smooth as expected. When he was drafted, Oden was viewed as the NBA’s next great center. Instead of dominating right away, it’s been a bumpy road filled with injuries, self doubt and poor play.
However, it now seems like Oden is starting to figure it all out. On Monday night against the Chicago Bulls, the Portland Trail Blazers starting center had a dominant outing. In only 27 minutes, Oden poured in 24 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots, while hitting 7-of-8 shots from the field and 10-of-12 from the free …read more

Gasol, who was out due to injury, didn’t skip a beat. He hit 9-of-15 field goal attempts and all six of his free throws. Kobe Bryant chipped in 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Ron Artest had 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Bulls were never really in the game. They trailed by …read more

Derrick Rose, the reigning rookie of the year and starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls, has missed almost two weeks of training camp and preseason play due to an ankle injury. Rose originally injured his ankle on October 2nd in a preseason game against the Indiana Pacers.
Rose believes that he could be back on the practice court by Friday.
Said Rose: “I have fluid around my ankle and around my tendons. They’re just waiting for the fluid to get loose, so it can relieve some pressure on my ankle.”
Last season as a rookie, Rose averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 assists and …read more
