National Semi COO Becomes CEO

Following the announcement that analog power management company National Semiconductor’s CEO, Brian Halla, plans to retire, the company has also released confirmation that current Chief Operating Officer, Donald Macleod, will become the company’s new CEO. Halla will step down effective November 30 and remain the company’s executive chairman, giving the reins of the company’s inner workings to Macleod.
The news of the change in leadership sent the company’s stock down 3 percent in after hours trading, despite Halla’s assertion that Macleod is very qualified of the CEO spot and that the position is “strongly deserved.” Halla has stated that he will remain with …read more
