Clayton Kershaw to Start Game 1 for Dodgers

In Game 1 of the NLCS, the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to trust their youth. Clayton Kershaw, the 21-year-old lefty, will be on the mound to start the game. The Dodgers will play the game at home against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday.
In the regular season, Kershaw’s record was only 8-8, however that doesn’t tell the tale of how well he pitched. He had a 2.79 ERA and totaled 185 strikeouts in 171 innings.

Los Angeles Dodgers Clinch NL West

Earlier in the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers appeared like they were going to easily win the NL West. But with the Colorado Rockies sprinting to the finish and L.A. slumping at the end, we saw a photo finish. On Saturday, the Dodgers beat the Rockies to finally clinch the NL West.
To get the victory, the Dodgers leaned on 21-year-old starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw. In six innings of work, Kershaw gave up only three hits while striking out ten batters and giving up no runs. The bullpen pitched three perfect innings to give the Dodgers a 5-0 win.

One Heck of a Mean Curveball

You know we’re feeling charitable when we post a video of a game that resulted in an L for the Boston Red Sox. Maybe it’s because the game took place in Vero Beach, home of the ‘rents, on-the-spot reader Pat, and the spring training Los Angeles Dodgers.
Anyhow, this isn’t quite as impressive as that unassisted triple play we posted the other day, but Dodger Clayton Kershaw’s curveball (25s) is one of the meanest ev-ah.
