The entire Connecticut campus was celebrating their homecoming win over Louisville when the unthinkable happened – one member of the team was stabbed outside of a school-sponsored dance. The fire alarm went off in the building, and Jasper “Jazz” Howard was one of the students to head outside, and while there, a confrontation led to him being stabbed. Despite the best efforts of two teammates that were with him, Howard died from the wounds.

People generally aren’t talking about Clemson football this year, but maybe they should be, because there is some real talent on the team. During their Week Four game against TCU, tailback CJ Spiller achieved something that has only been done once before in major college football.
The feat in question? After a 60-yard pass reception, he became the second person to ever have at least 2500 yards rushing, 1500 yards in kick off returns, 1000 yards receiving, and 500 yards in punt returns. I already talked about the Notre Dame – Michigan Game a little earlier today, but that wasn’t by far the only good game of the week. Week Two was surprisingly interesting. If this is any indication of what the rest of the 2009 college football season is like, it’s going to be an interesting year.

Clemson junior guard Terrence Oglesby will not be returning to college next year to drain thirty footers in guy’s faces like it’s a walk in the park.  Instead he’ll be in Europe, firing up jumpers left and right I’m sure.
Clemson coach Oliver Purnell’s head must be aching right about now.  From what I’ve read, Oliver didn’t see this coming at all, so it’s definitely a stunning blow for the program.

I can’t quite remember right now, that cbssportsline feed is off the hook good. However, I do not know if this is weird or normal, but I might have burned myself out these last two days.
