These are examples, in the world of competition, to which “inconsolable” applies.

Kim Kardashian losing to Cloris Leachman & Co. on a show that has a very, very, very loose definition of “stars”? That’s called “predictable.”

Perhaps some of Reggie’s 23,000+ “friends” on MySpace will step up to the plate and make her feel better.
