Coach K Will Lead Team USA In 2012

According to ESPN, Mike Krzyzewski (a.k.a. Coach K) will return as the head coach of the U.S. men’s basketball team for the 2012 Olympics. He will also  remain as coach of the national team at the 2010 world championship in Turkey.
First reported by The Boston Globe, USA basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo convinced Coach K  to stay in the job after he led the U.S.A. to the gold medal in Beijing last summer.
“With the success that we had, I would do everything in my power to keep everything intact,” Colangelo told The Associated Press without confirming the decision.

Greg Paulus Could Jump To The NFL

It really isn’t a dramatic jump, considering the fact that Greg Paulus was a standout quarterback on his high school football team. While at Christian Brothers Academy, Paulus started for three seasons — passing for over 8,000 yds., breaking five state records and losing only three games throughout his career.
These stats were so impressive that Paulus was once considered the best quarterback in his age group, receiving 53 scholarship offers to play football at the Division I level in college.
But Paulus’ first love had always been basketball. And when he was given the opportunity to play for one of …read more

Seth Curry Transfer To Duke

Well, it’s looks as though we know where one of the Curry brothers is going to end up after this basketball season.
ESPN reported yesterday that Seth Curry’s father, former NBA great Dell Curry,  made it known Sunday night after a visit to Durham earlier in the day that Seth had been offered a scholarship by the Duke Blue Devils and accepted. Curry averaged 20.2 points a game for the Flames this past season, making a name for himself in his own right outside of the shadow of his brother, Stephen.
Because of the transfer rule in college basketball, Seth will sit …read more

Gerald’s got an extra step on his ladder

According to Jay Bilas.
Duke @ Maryland is shaping up to be a helluva game. And Mr. Vasquez isn’t even playing!! (foul trouble).
I’d recommend you to turn it on if you’re not already watching it.
I want Gary Williams and Coach K. to fight each other.

Political trash talking off the court

It’s no secret that legendary North Carolina head coach Dean Smith is a liberal and current Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski is a conservative.
Fairly recently Dean Smith announced that he is endorsing Barack Hussein Obama.

Current North Carolina coach Roy Williams might be supporting Barack Hussein Obama? Not really sure…
UNC spokesperson says Roy didn’t endorse Obama.
Of course he didn’t. Wink. A UNC basketball rep described the statement Williams made calling Obama “the next President of the United States” as “playful.” Of course Williams could have refused the Obama campaign’s request to have Obama on court. No, instead, …read more

Gregory Paulus relegated to the bench

And…
Brian Zoubek still must have his fist stuck in his ear or something, or else he would have beaten out raw freshman Miles Plumlee for that starting center spot by now.
Seth Davis from SI Hoop Thoughts
For someone who is as young and tall as he is, Plumlee has plenty of meat on his bones, and he is very agile to boot. (Krzyzewski told me he jumped 6 feet, 9 inches for his high school track team.) He seemed a little lost at times basketball-wise, but that’s nothing unusual considering it was only his fourth practice. Plumlee is Duke’s best shot-blocker, …read more
