Phillip Fulmer is the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers. He also has a birthday coming up on Labor Day. Happy Birthday from all of us at Dejuiced!

This will be his 16th year as head coach where he has a record of 147-45 and an SEC record of 87-27. He coached the Volunteers to the first ever BCS National Championship after the 1998 season. He’s had some good years after that and some bad (remember 2005? No? Ranked 3rd in the preseason and finished 5-6. Your welcome for catching you up.) and last year the Volunteers went 10-4 with a win against Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl. This year the Coaches and AP polls have them #18 at the start of the season and they take another trip to California this year but this time go up against the UCLA Bruins.

But outside of the goodness above, he has been 14-12 against the SEC in recent years and has been 5-11 against Florida. Some fans are still not over the 2005 year (I understand. Buckeyes went 6-6 in 1999. But I got over that when Cooper was fired). If another year like that happened, what will Knoxville do?

He started the season off on a slow start with the Chargers but ended the regular season at 11-5. The Chargers then beat the Tennessee Titans and the defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts on the road. But then lost in the AFC championship game to the then undefeated New England Patriots. Not bad for his first year, right? Let’s just see if he can repeat.

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Today we look at Mike Gundy.

Before we start looking at Coach Gundy, I’ll get it out of the way. “He’s a man!” OK – I’m done. However, that was one of the all-time classic press conferences in college football. It was one that he would rather rip the media than talk about his team’s win over Texas Tech. But press conferences like that don’t help you keep your job. Sure, it earns you a little respect and a LOT of face time on TV and the Internet, but doesn’t keep you on the sideline.

Gundy is 18-19 in his three seasons in Stillwater as the head coach. He’s led the Cowboys to back-to-back bowl game wins after posting a 4-7 mark in his first season. Yet, now is the time for him to prove that he can take OSU to that next level.

Gundy has one of the most exciting quarterbacks to watch in college football, in Zac Robinson. And the Cowboys have a pretty soft non-conference schedule in 2008, which includes Missouri State, Houston, Troy and the season opener at Washington State. However, the Cowboys will play three of their toughest conference foes all on the road (Missouri, Texas and Texas Tech). The Cowboys do catch a break in their conference schedule by hosting both Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Entering his fourth season, we should be seeing Gundy’s recruits making an impact and begin moving up in the Big 12 standings. So, you tell us. Do you approve of Gundy as the head coach of Oklahoma State?

Can you say hot seat? [Mike Stoops is the head coach of the Arizona Wildcats. He is also the younger brother of Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the same success at Arizona that older brother has had at Oklahoma. Mike's records since he become head coach in 2004 are:

2004: 3-8, 2-6 in Pac 10

2005: 3-8, 2-6 in Pac 10

2006: 6-6, 4-5 in Pac 10

2007: 5-7, 4-5 in Pac 10

And of course he takes his frustrations out on his rival Arizona State. Saying that they accept recruits with lower academic standards so obviously that's how they've been able to succeed. Sure Stoops, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Each year at Arizona, he has had wins against teams in the top 25. In 2004 against #20 Arizona State, 2005 against #7 UCLA, 2006 against #8 California, and 2007 against #2 Oregon.

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Today we look at Charlie Weis.
Charlie Weis is entering his fourth season as the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. He’s coming off his worst season to date, after the Irish posted a 3-9 record in 2007.
With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them.
Charlie Weis is entering his fourth season as the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. He’s coming off his worst season to date, after the Irish posted a 3-9 record in 2007. Weis has been called an offensive and quarterback guru, yet so far, his magic is yet to work with young signal caller Jimmy Clausen.

Weis was recently booed at Wrigley Field, where he sang during the seventh inning stretch. Notre Dame is one of the most storied college football teams in history. Weis has to have the Irish competing for a national championship, or at least a BCS bowl each season.

So far, Weis 22-15 overall in his first three seasons in South Bend. However, the schedule never gets easier if you are Notre Dame. Will the Irish stir the echoes in 2008 and return to glory? Or will Weis be on his way out after another dismal season? We’ll have to wait and see on that.

They did end up with baggage though. Terrell Owens ring a bell?

During his time coaching, his family has made the news. In 2007 his sons, Britt and Garrett, were sentenced to 23 months in prison. Many questioned his coaching getting in the way of his father duties or his father duties getting in the way of his coaching. But Andy thinks otherwise.

We’ve dealt with Garrett’s situation for a long time, and we’ve done it through Super Bowls and championships. And it’s new to a lot of people, but it’s not new to us. As long as Jeffrey Lurie will have me, and as long as I can do my job to the best of my ability, I would love to be an Eagle.
His record in Philadelphia is 96-62 and received Coach of the Year honors in 2000 and 2002.

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Today we look at Bobby Petrino.

There’s no denying that two of the most talked about college football coaches in the nation this off season have been Rich Rodriguez and Bobby Petrino. Both have new jobs and left their previous jobs under much scrutiny. Petrino bolted from the Atlanta Falcons before the season was complete and was introduced at a press conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas just before midnight (see videos below).

Petrino has been a very successful collegiate coach. He’s won everywhere he’s been at, which includes several stops. Unfortunately, his track record has to have Razorback fans wondering how long he plans to stay. Yet, there’s no doubt that most of the Razorback fan base is ecstatic to have Petrino at the reigns of their football program. He’ll take over from another controversial coach in Houston Nutt, who was all but run out of town by the fans before putting down roots at Ole Miss.

Razorback fans expect a high quality product on the field each season. To compete in the Southeastern Conference, you have to have such a product. So, Coach Petrino has a lot to live up to. He’ll definitely earn all of his paycheck (5 years – $2.85 million per year) this season with the likes of Florida, Texas, Auburn and LSU on the schedule. It’s tough to tell this early how Arkansas will do with such a brutal schedule. It would be tough to say that the Hogs could win eight games (like another site has predicted). It’s more likely that Arkansas will be 6-6 after year one under Petrino, but you never know.

Now the question remains. Do you approve or disapprove of Coach Petrino? Cast your vote now.

If you didn’t catch Petrino being introduced (and how could you have missed it!), check out the two videos below from KATV Channel 7 out of Little Rock.

Kirk’s best years as coach of the Hawkeyes were from 2002-2004. They shared the Big Ten Championship twice during that time span and ended the seasons at 11-2, 10-3, and 10-2. But things haven’t been the same in Iowa City since. They have had a 19-18 record for the past 3 years. Even with this record Kirk’s name had been mentioned in some coaching vacancies in the recent years (i.e. Michigan). Either a) he’s a good coach and the injuries on his team in the recent years aren’t helping matters or b) he’s a pretty good coach and his agent is trying to do his best to make him look like a better one by getting him involved with as many coaching vacancies as possible (i.e. Baltimore Ravens).

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Let’s kick off the college ranks with a look at Rich Rodriguez.

Rich Rodriguez is the new head coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines. He was hired after Lloyd Carr announced his retirement at the end of the 2007 season.

The former West Virginia University head coach has gone through a messy divorce with his former employer, one that was ultimately resolved by Rodriguez returning $4 million to the Mountaineers (a tab that will mostly be picked up by his new employer). Rodriguez will be introducing a new offense to the Maize and Blue fan base this season, one that will look more like Appalachian State’s than Michigan’s from the 2007 season. We all know which team came out on the better end of that game. Anyway – the question is will Rodriguez be successful at Michigan by instituting an offense that needs players (that he doesn’t have, yet) to make it work?

Michigan will pay Rodriguez $2.5 mil for the next six years. I’m sure fans will expect Rodriguez and the Big Blue to win 10 games year-in-and-year-out, just like he did in his final three seasons at West Virginia. But, without his players in place to run his offense, it could be a tough road ahead for the Wolverines. Another site has predicted that Michigan will win only four games this season – and lose their home opener to Utah. So – the question remains, will Rodriguez take Michigan to the next level? Will the Wolverines once again become the elite of the Big Ten? Or will he become a huge headache for the fan base that is aching for a national title? You decide.
