Week Four is Rough on Top Football Teams

Week Four in college football wasn’t pretty for the AP Top 25. The leaders – #1 Florida, #2 Texas, and #3 Alabama – held on strong, but that was about the only things that stayed the same between Week Three and Week Four. In fact, an astounding 15 teams moved at least three spots on the list, and pollsters reported that this was one of the hardest weeks to vote.
Here’s how the top 25 looks after Week Four. Their Week Three rankings are in parenthesis:

What’s that you say? Your favorite college football team doesn’t appear in the recent top 25 rankings? Don’t worry, because SI.com released their list of preseason rankings, 1-119.
Mark Richt’s Georgia Bulldogs also claim the top spot in this ranking, followed in order by Ohio State, USC, Missouri and Florida.
The Gators and defending Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow have to wonder what the season holds for them after news broke today that tight end Cornelius Ingram will most likely miss the entire 2008 season due to a torn ACL.
