For the true geeks among us, there could be no bigger event at Comic-Con than uber-director James Cameron showing up to promote his shrouded-in-secrecy new project, Avatar. Not a single frame of footage, not one rendering or piece of concept art has been shown from the film. Until today.

The Summit Entertainment panel was the hottest ticket in town at Comic-Con on Thursday, as the core cast and the film’s director turned out to promote and talk about The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second movie in the series.
On hand were stars Kristen Stewart (Bella), Robert Pattinson (Edward), Taylor Lautner (Jacob), Ashley Greene (Alice), and director Chris Weitz. Comic-Con ‘09: Disney’s 3D panel

Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt, aka the voice of Remy from Ratatouille, moderated the “Disney 3D” panel, kicking off Comic-Con’s first ever panel to show film footage in 3D. Special 3D glasses were handed out to everyone in attendance to make this possible.

The first 3D film Disney showed off was A Christmas Carol, the latest Robert Zemeckis “digital cinema” film, starring Jim Carrey.
