Sure you can download your videos on your laptop or desktop, upload them on video sharing sites and send the link to your family and friends. This method has been around for years, but what we want is to be able to share videos instantly with friends and family members while shooting them up.

Qik is the quick way to share your videos to everyone else by shooting and streaming live videos from your phone. Qik can send out tweets whenever you are recording and you also have the option to embed your video in various sites using automatically generated embedded source code. This is a powerful function and feature that lets you enjoy video recording even more. You would have to remember to bring extra battery to power your phone because it would need to power multiple times than it would normally have to.

Qik is also integrated in different and popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter which ensure a wide range of audience for your loved ones.

Qik supports hundreds of devices and some of the more popular ones are the following devices: Amoi 6711, Apple iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, ASUS P320, AT&T 8525, AT&T SMT 5700, Blackberry Curve 8300, Blackberry Curve 8310, Blackberry Curve 8320, HTC Diamond, Motorola Q Music 9m, Nokia 5800 Express Music, Orange, Palm Treo Pro, Palm Treo 800w, Qtek 9600, Samsung Blackjack series, Sony Ericsson smart phones, Sprint phones, T-mobile and vodafone among others.

For the first time I have started using Google Calendar last week and I know this application has been around for months, or years but I haven’t used it since we have Microsoft Outlook Calendar which I have been using for more than 6 years already.

I started using Google Calendar because I find its online capability awesome even if I still don’t have a need for it since I am always accessing my files via my laptop at home. Anyways, given that I am using the application I am looking for ways to integrate various applications into it. I am used to having SharePoint integrated in Outlook and now I am curious to find out what other apps can be added in the Google Calendar.

One of these applications I found out is Facebook which allows you to add events into Google Calendar. Below are the steps to be able to do this:

1. Login to your Facebook account

2. In Facebook navigate to the “Events” page

3. A popup screen would appear, make sure you get the URL of it.

4. In google calendar, look at the bottom left and you will see “other calendars”. Below that link click on “add”

5. On the next step, choose “add by url”

6. Paste the url you have copied in step “3”.

7. Done

Wow, integrating applications in Google Calendar is way simpler than what I have configured or done in SharePoint and Outlook.

I am beginning to use the Google apps more and more. How about you? Have you been in Google apps? How long?

I am no graphic artist nor do I have the skills to do simple graphic designs but nonetheless, I want to be able to do more graphic editing than plain paint brush functionalities. Given that I am no graphics designer and would not be an amateur editor anytime soon, I do not want to spend money on heavyweight graphic applications like Adobe Photoshop.

For people like me I welcome the Inkscape open source vector graphics editor which is free and contain the same features as most drawing applications. Inkscape is no Abode photoshop but this is just right for people like me who is trying to learn the basics of editing simple things visually.

Despite the open source and free nature of Inkscape, the features are impressive as it supports the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SGV) file format. The software also incorporates SVG features like markers, clones, alpha blending, a streamlined interface for smooth editing. Also, the software provides easy editing of notes, has the ability to perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and so many more features that even professionals can use everyday.

Inkscape is a feature rich application that requires heavy hardware requirements and you would need to plan for this the same things as when you plan on installing Adobe Photoshop and tools.

You can use Inkscape to create icons, design web pages, web buttons, and your own free-hand vector art. This software is too powerful to be offered for free, but it is. If you have the hardware requirements to install this app I would suggest to go ahead and install it. Even if you are not into graphics and occasionally edit images, Inkscape is far better than your Microsoft paint brush.

I will try this out and give you feedback on how it goes.

If you need a quick and small application for basic note taking tasks on your Android, the AK Notepad is for you. The latest version of the AK Notepad is 1.9.2 and was just released last October 24 of this year.

The AK Notepad is a basic memo pad which allows you to change interface color and text sizes. This application also has the ability to automatically convert email addresses and URLs into hyperlinks which you can use to write websites, portal links, or any online article you want to take notes on. The other features of the application include a simple “remind me” functionality for chosen notes, the ability to send notes via SMS, and to search notes via the title field.

As I said this is a basic application and one of the more important handicaps is the ability to synch up with your desktop. You would not be able to get these notes easily and would have to email them to yourself, download it, or export it on your SD cards. To get notes from your desktop to your PC, you would have to manually save the notes to your SD card and open it in AK notepad.

Currently you can download the app here — “AK Productions” but it would eventually be moved to Snaptic who have acquired the rights to the application.

While this application is not for someone who is looking for a powerful and feature rich software, this could still be a handy tool to have on your Android.

We have reported multiple times that the computer industry is in the rebound and as such, this is the best time to update your resume, post them on job boards like Monster.com, Dice.com and other job classified ads.

The tech companies who are on the rebound includes Intel, Asus, HP, Dell. Chuck Malloy from Intel who said in an interview with MaximumPC that they cannot save their way out of recession but rather spend their way out. Intel has increased demands as manufacturers like Asus, HP, Dell have made increases in their hardware manufacturing demands going into October and towards the holiday season. Microsoft is releasing their Windows 7 and we are also expecting increased in sales that would trickle down to various vendors. These companies are expected to grow and the requirements for human resources are also expected to increase.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt was in a New York city press conference last week where he said they are increasing their hiring since they have seen recovery in the United States and Europe. Eric says they didn’t expect Europe to recover together with U.S. but with Europe recovering right now, things look bright for the search giant.

This is the time I would suggest that you start updating your resumes because most probably companies are prepping their organization for growth, hiring leaders for their growth organizations, hiring quality employees, giving out signing bonuses, etc. This is the time to revisit your monster.com or dice.com account.

I am surely one of those people who would be checking out the waters right now and see what the offer is out there. I encourage you to join the boat.

According to Dan, what he has seen so far has been impressive. Below are the missions as discussed:

Mission 1: The mission is about Raynor’s Raider who landed on Mar Sara to be able to liberate the colony from the Dominion control. The colonists were resistant to Raynor noting that his presence would just increase the oppression from the Dominion control. During this resistance a civilian was killed in cold blood that spurred an angry mob in to revolt which joined Raynor’s marines.

Mission 2: The second mission is about “The Dig” where you would spawn with a basic base to kill the enemy base. Once you have deployed the marines and medics, you would come across a group of rebel marines and after you have rescued them would help you go after the enemy base. This is straightforward Starcraft battle mode.

Mission 3: The third mission is called “Zero-Hour” where your mission to stay put and hold off zergling attack until you are saved and rescued by Raynor’s battleship Hyperiod which destroys all zerglings and hydralisks.

The two of the three missions described seems to be typical Starcraft missions but nonetheless, we all know that when this is released full-blown fans worldwide would be in awe on the beauty and game play of Starcraft.

This known hindrance was given a solution by its creators by adding multi-touch support that react sensitively to gestures.

There are so many devices and software popping up that utilize touch screen technology and what is interesting is the companys’ claim that its using its own patent. What makes their touch different from the rest? I haven’t read the coverage of their patent but their touch technology says it allows to use all five fingers, both hands and can even recognize when your hands are facing the side. Also, the company says gestures like “lasso”, “shove”, “scrunch”, “fan out” are unique to their technology. Additional features include tossing of files onto USB drives, thumbnail previews without watermarks and some extras.

BumpTop software is free and can be download here (download for BumpTop). The BumpTop with multitouch support currently cost $29.

I have been looking forward for the Google Wave release and I got a little frustrated when I missed to sign-up on the developer preview they offered before. Google Wave is said to be a collaborative platform and I am not only a big fan of Digital Collaboration; but it is my career. I am itching to make that comparison between Google Wave and SharePoint and see if they can interact with each other through the APIs.

Anyways, Google has announced they are releasing around 100,000 invitations to preview the Google wave. Those invitations are most likely to be sent out to developers who were actively participating in the developer preview back in June, the first customers who signed up and offered to give feedback on Google wave and some select customers of Google Apps.

Those initial invites would later be asked to nominate their friends and family to join the Google Wave preview since they content that Google Wave becomes more useful when you have friends and family on it. Since it is a collaboration tool then it is a requirement to have colleagues, family and friends to collaborate with. If all goes well, Google Wave team says they will invite more people into the preview.

The team says that right from the start they have focused on building Google for scalability, stability and speed and usability. They have a very strong opponent in SharePoint and they need to build a kickass application. Their collaboration platform might easily make it to the consumer market but if they want to see enterprise scale implementation of this application, they need to make sure this can compete with the heavyweight SharePoint.

However, the team is quick to say that occasional crashes can happen and they would try their best to fix these issues and improve upon their product. Google Wave would not only be used for personal activities but it should provide improvements in productivity through better communication and collaboration. The team says they have been using Google Wave for planning, sharing photos, managing release processes, debate of features, writing design documents and other business tasks.

The announcement for those 100,000 people who would be chosen to participate in this activity would begin on September 30. I hope thousands of people who are given the invite would not confirm and Google opens up more invitations to people other than those outlined above. I missed signing-up for developers preview, and I missed joining the Google Wave feedbacks to receive invitation for the preview.

Anyways, I would watching closely the features and happenings on this space as Digital Collaboration is and would always be part of me.
