Quake Wars will have in-game advertising

I’m not loving itThe guys at Splash Damage talked to the community about in-game advertising in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, that hot shooter built using a modified Doom III engine. And you know what? The response seems to be generally good. For now, at least.

Neil Postlethwaite, managing director at Splash Damage, explained that the developers want to keep supporting ETQW and not just “walk away” after releasing the game. Postlethwaite thinks in-game advertising would help maintain the persistent stat servers and the community site, in addition to the updates and improvements that they planned.

Games I’m currently playing

If you have a short attention span like I do, then I’m sure you fill up your hard drive with several games and play a different one daily. Of course, the games I play are subject to my current mood, plus other important factors like the alignment of the stars and existing geopolitical events.

My current favorite is Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. Yes, it got great reviews on the PlayStation 2, but I like the PC version better because I can use the keyboard and mouse for moving around. Psi Ops’ Havok 2 physics engine makes the game a very enjoyable romp, and it brings out my creativity in beating the crap out of enemy fodder.Psi-Ops
