Now the Beavers are at it again as they knocked off the Trojans 62-58 in overtime on Sunday.
The win snapped Oregon State’s 23-game Pac-10 Conference losing streak.
The loss snapped the Trojans five-game winning streak and seven-game winning streak against the Beavers.
USC, which got plenty of preseason top 25 love from just about everyone, drops to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

For of you who don’t know (come on, there can’t be that many of you out there who don’t), Robinson is the brother of First Lady-Elect, Michelle Obama, and of course the brother-in-law of President-Elect Barack Obama.

So I’m sitting here watching the California at Oregon State football game and who are the ABC broadcasters interviewing in the middle of a close 27-21 Oregon State lead in the third quarter?

None other than new Oregon State men’s basketball coach Craig Robinson. Robinson is in his first year as head coach with the Beavers after coming over from Brown University.

For of you who don’t know (come on, there can’t be that many of you out there who don’t), Robinson is the brother of First Lady-Elect, Michelle Obama, and of course the brother-in-law of President-Elect Barack Obama.

Does that mean we refer to him as the First Coach from now on?

Anyway, besides talking about how historic the election was and how Robinson may get his own key to the White House, everyone in the booth also talked about how horrible the Beavers have been in recent years and how the new Robinson era hopes to change that.

Well, the Robinson era started with a 47-45 loss on Friday night to Howard University in Washington D.C.

Oregon State is predicted to finish last in the Pac-10 by coaches and the media this year. My question is that if that the Beavers are that bad, will Robinson and the school ask for a federal bail out?

You know, something like some tax free transfers from UCLA, North Carolina or Louisville to get them by until things get better and they climb out of the cellar.

It’s not like Robinson doesn’t have a legit claim. And besides, he has the best connections in Washington D.C. anyone could possibly have.
