Rudi Johnson dreaming about being a Detroit Lion
It did not take long.
One day the Cincinnati Bungles are releasing Rudi Johnson for whatever reason and the next day the Detroit Lions are roaring about signing Rudi Johnson.
Rudi said all the right things.
“The playbook is the main thing right now,” Johnson said. “When I leave here, I’ll be in the playbook 24/7. I know my cell phone is ringing crazy, but I don’t have time for no phone calls right now. I’ve got a lot of work to do.

The football has just floated away from Rudi Johnson lately
Two years ago my Fantasy Football team had Rudi Johnson and Larry Johnson for the running backs. It was a lethal combination that led to a regular season crown and a trip to the playoffs. We won’t discuss what happened after that.
And it is my guess that the two Johnsons don’t want to discuss what has happened since either.

Finishing off the cuts
The wave of cuts has subsided and will stay low for the next few days until it becomes clear whether or not there will be an agreement. If there will be, then expect there to be just as many signings as there have been cuts in the last few days. If not, then expect another 100 or so major cuts to be made, and then about 150 signings as all the players find new homes.

I’d love to devote a full story to some of the major cuts and releases being made. The Steelers ditching Tommy Maddox….the Jets battling it out with Pennington….the Pats showing the greatest kicker in NFL history the door….but I can’t. I don’t have time. Instead, I let others do it for me
