A Bud by another name
I had this great idea for a blog, which was to do a side-by-side taste test of American Budweiser and Czech Budweiser (Budvar in Czech). For those who are interested in such things, the German name for the small Bohemian city of Budvar is Budweis, and therefore any beer which came out of Budweis would be a Budweiser beer. To many of the early brewers in the US, Budweiser was a term which evoked a sense of quality, an appellation of sorts, and at one point there were many Budweiser beers scattered across the US.
