Do you think antics on the field and some fancy football in the end zone can help football players dance? A few of them have been on Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) now, and the latest rumor is that Chad Ochocinco will be joining the cast. The next cast for DWTS will be announced in January, with a show kick off in February.
Of course, if the Bengals make the Superbowl (pardon me while I laugh hysterically for minute…… hahahhaha…… okay I’m back), then the timing might interfere with his football schedule. Otherwise, he’d be cleared to go.

Chuck Liddell will be trading in the five ounce gloves for some dancing shoes as he prepares to show a different kind of footwork on the latest season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. The show premieres on Monday, September 21st at 8pm, and this season will feature the Iceman as one of the celebrity dancers.
This won’t be Chuck’s first time on the show. Several seasons ago, his then-girlfriend (or whatever he calls the many beautiful women he’s involved with at any given time) Willa Ford was a contestant and ABC did a little segment on her ‘good friend’ (wink …read more

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Tony Romo recently and asked him some burning questions every football fan is dying to know. First up on the list was exactly how serious he and Jessica Simpson are. Answer? That he had no special announcements (read: engagement) to decree right now.
Shucks.
When asked what his dream date with Jessica would be, the ultra romantic said, “A little bite to eat and probably watch a football game.”
Wow – that’s romance! (Wonder if he makes her watch his highlight reel each week?)
Anywho, then Romo was asked THE BIG …read more

As luck would have it, just tonight I was sitting in my living room and I could see into the upstairs window of my neighbor’s house. Their son was jumping on the bed and getting considerable height. I kept thinking that it looked like he was having a lot of fun and it appears that he wasn’t the only one with bed-jumping on his mind!
Olympic gold-medalist, Shawn Johnson, decided to warm up for her performance on Dancing With the Stars this week by jumping on the World’s Biggest Bed in New York’s Bryant Park!
The gymnast led the kick-off of InterContinental …read more

Aren’t we all rooting for Lawrence Taylor on Dancing with the Stars? He looks so uncomfortable! I just want to give him a big hug and help him along. Well this week should be extra special because another football player and former Dancing alum Warren Sapp has given the original LT some encouragement.
According to People, Sapp’s advice was that, “You can’t worry about the judges. You just go out there and have fun. If you’re not having fun then why do the show?”
So true. Part of not being so stiff is just relaxing and …read more

So, I was wrong about Maurice Greene’s making through another round in ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” The 34-year-old, former Olympic Golf Medalist (100m and 4×100m in 2000) and his professional dancing partner, Cheryl Burke were voted off after Monday’s show, missing the semi-finals by one episode. Still want to see Maurice dance? He’ll be performing on the “Dancing with the Stars” 37-city tour, which begins December 18.

Maurice Greene on DTWS – Week Eight

Just when I thought that Olympian sprinter, Maurice Greene was going to be the next to be eliminated on the ABC reality show, “Dancing with the Stars,” he steps up his game. Last night the two-time Gold Medalist and his professional dancing partner, Cheryl Burke performed the Samba with flair and precision. Greene also performed well in the group dance, the Paso Doble. That performance is featured in the video below. While I don’t think he’s going to win the competition, I do think he’ll be around for a couple of more weeks. Good job Maurice.

Our remaining Olympian, sprinter Maurice Greene has made it to the half-way point on the ABC reality show, “Dancing with the Stars.” He and professional dance partner, Cheryl Burke danced the Salsa, earning a 27 out of 30 from the judges. No video is available of their performance, but there is this spoof of a political ad that for the show with Maurice and Lance Bass.
Next week, the remaining six pairs will learn two dances, one individual performance and a group dance. We continue to wish Maurice well.

With Misty May-Treanor injured, that leaves just one Olympian to vie for the mirror ball trophy on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”–sprinter, Maurice Greene. Appropriately, the two-time Olympian and dance partner, Cheryl Burke stepped up their game last night with the jive, danced to “Rockin’ round the Clock.” The judges rewarded them with a score of 25, putting them in a tie for second place. I’ll post the video of their dance when it becomes available.
