Oooh! It looks like it’s about the time! Time for what, huh? Well, it’s almost time for TellTale to launch its new episodic game series, Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures.

What’s so dang grand about these adventures? Umm, well, Wallace and Gromit are two pretty famous characters, at least over in England. I know I loved watching their adventures as a high school student with nothing but time and tons of cocaine on my hands.

Okay, there was NO cocaine involved in my youth, but wouldn’t that explain so very much about me? I think it would.

Because TellTale is so awesome, they’ve decided to let us give Wallace and Gromit a try even before the game comes out next week on March 24th. For those people not so weak of heart, head on over to FilePlanet to grab the demo version of the game and give ol’ Wallace and his pal Gromit a try.

Wallace and Gromit get a demo

Now this is some news that many a person has been waiting for: after around two years of waiting, A Vampyre Story finally has a playable demo! I know, you’re thinking “What? I didn’t actually think this game was going to MAKE it to a playable demo form, because it’s been YEARS since we’ve first heard about this game.”

Well, this is what I have to say to you: Stop being a Negative Nelly! Gosh! These adventure games take time to make and at least we’ll see the game out before Christmas. Yes, that’s right – the full game will be available to play in the United States on November 25th and it’s already out in Europe (you lucky Europeans!).

Here’s what you’ll see in the demo:

In the demo, Mona and Froderick are in trouble: They are on the Vlad’s Landing Graveyard and Picknick Grounds, looking for Mona’s grave, in order to retreive some grave dirt that Mona needs to put in her coffin for travelling.

The game will be a measly $29.99, which is pretty cheap considering the guy who originally penned A Vampyre Story, Bill Tiller, was one of the guys who helped out on many classic LucasArts adventure games including The Dig, The Curse of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones.

Belief and Betrayal Demo Now Available!

Have you, like me, been waiting for the months, years… maybe your ENTIRE LIFE to be able to play a demo of the new LEGO game, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures? Well, if you have, then your life long wait of waiting has finally come to an end. The WAIT is OVER!

Games for Windows has the demo for you to download, so not only can you wait for the movie to come out, but you can pretend to be an Indiana Jones with a head that could potentially pop off and be replaced with someone else’s head.

Not that you couldn’t do that in real life. I mean, someone’s head really COULD come off in real life, but it would be a lot more messy and probably way more painful. LEGO Indiana Jones is totally fake. He probably wouldn’t even die.

LEGO Indiana Jones Demo!

For those of you interested in psychological thriller adventure games, then good news is to be had. Overclocked: A History of Violence is out in both US and the UK. Not, only is it out, though… but there’s even a demo for you to play, because the developer, House of Tales, loves you with all of their hearts.

That’s a lot of love, man.

In the game, you get to play six different characters who get to explore 45 locations while trying to figure out why five different men and women are losing their minds. Doesn’t that sound fun?

Here’s the story:

Set against the backdrop of a catastrophic thunderstorm raging over New York City, step into the world of Overclocked as former army psychiatrist, David McNamara. You are called to the Staten Island Forensic Hospital in New York City to consult on a case that requires your expertise in forensic psychiatry. Tasked with exploring the minds of five young men and women who were found scared, screaming, and without memory, you make alarming discoveries as you begin to cautiously probe the psyches of your young patients. Throughout the game, you will play as five other characters in this chilling interactive psycho thriller.

Overclocked: A History of Violence Demo

Alright, I know the title to this post was cheesy and probably not something that you appreciated, but I thought it was funny, so THERE.

With the U.S. launch date of Jack Keane so dang close, it was probably a smart move on 10acle Studios and Deck13’s behalf to decide to put out a demo in English of the new piratey adventure so that all of us would be fans could actually have a taste of the game before we dropped some hard earned dough on it. I mean, it might suck. And then you’ll be pissed off if you spent money on a game that sucked, wouldn’t you? I know I would.

But I have a feeling that this game will not suck. Why? Because I played the demo and I liked what I saw. Plus there’s pirates and stuff and you can never go wrong with pirates. Unless, of course, you are in alliance with the Ninja faction – in which case, we are now mortal enemies.

Just remember pirates fight dirty, all you ninja lovers!

Jack Keane Demo is mighty keen.

So, have you been waiting to a demo to be released of TellTale’s and Ubisoft’s detective style adventure game, CSI: Hard Evidence, because you’ve heard that it might not be as much fun as say… a broken arm? Well, I have good news for you!

TellTale, with the blessings of Ubisoft, has created a demo of the first act in CSI: Hard Evidence in which you get to figure out who set a cabby on fire! And I can tell you it definitely wasn’t me. Setting fire to people just isn’t my style. You never get the smell of burning flesh out of your clothes! Not that I would know anything about that. Let’s just say that I’m definitely NOT in this demo. I wouldn’t make a very good video game character, anyways. I’d be too spastic and would probably make people throw up.

So, if you want to play the demo before you buy it, you may do so here. This way you can totally tell if it’s worth spending $29.99 for the PC version or $39.99 for the Wii or Xbox. I love demos!

CSI: Hard Evidence Demo Goodness!

If you, like me, are bored and/or poor, then I have the perfect thing for you to do this weekend. Play a demo! What demo? Well, why not play a demo for an adventure game. I mean, that’s what we do here… we play adventure games. So, it wouldn’t be too hard to assume that you would also want to play a demo OF an adventure game. But I have a more specific demo in mind. There is a game that has been available for purchase for a few weeks called Blackwell: Unbound by Wadget Eye Games. See look! I have talked about this game before!

Blackwell: Unbound never had a demo that us poor/bored people could play, so we couldn’t figure out whether we wanted to really spend that money/find something to do. But now, with the help of this download, you can play a demo of the game. Now, you have no excuses not to find a few bucks (read $9.99) or to be bored. There is plenty of entertainment to be had.

Or you can just turn on your stereo to the local rap station and figure out a new tap dance that goes along with slapping hos and bitches. It’s your call, man.

Blackwell: Unbound Demo is Ready for download!

Our good friends over at Adventure Gamers have made an announcement that the new horror/thriller adventure game, Penumbra: Overture has been released to the public for your frightening pleasure. In case you’ve forgotten what the games about, here’s a little snippet of the game’s story:

On leaving the final signs of human civilization behind him, in search of the location mentioned in his father’s ambiguous notes, Philip wonders if he’s left some part of his humanity behind as well. Soon, that will be the least of his fears.

Now, Philip needs your help. He’s found an inexplicable metal hatch, in the middle of a frozen wasteland. Inside, is something yet more unfathomable.

Step into the unknown.

This first game that has been released is only part one of three, so if you enjoy this first game, never fear… more games shall be on there way. You just have to be patient. I know, it’s hard… but it is a virtue after all!

There is a demo of the game over on Penumbra: Overture’s website so make sure you go and check it out. I took a quick look at it and it looks like it’ll be pretty awesome. Hopefully it won’t be as mind numbing as Scratches was, but you never can tell with these horror games.

If you fall in love with the demo, head on over to your local video game store and buy it. You can’t beat the price of $19.99 for a good horror adventure game.

Penumbra: Overture Will Soon Scare Gamers Everywhere

With the English version of Deck13’s new Egyptian saga, Ankh: Heart of Osiris, fast approaching, you must be wondering when a demo will be coming out. Because, what’s the point of a game if there’s no demo?? There is no point! But, those good ol’ peeps down at Deck13 have finally put together a demo that people, like me (the English speakers) can play and actually understand. Sure, the German version looked fun to play, but I got stuck in about 5 seconds. And that’s just no good.

And with things like English demos coming out, I see that they also have an English website for Ankh: Heart of Osiris… though it HAS been around since December. Man, where have I been? So, go check out the Ankh like goodies.

If you’re itching to get a taste of what’s to come up for our favorite Egyptian heroes, take a look at the new demo. You’ll probably like it.
