I was reading Rhonda Abrams column on how each year she cleans off her desk and purges files she no longer needs.  It’s great advice  – and I’d like to take it a step further.

This week is a slow one work-wise for most businesses. So take advantage of the time to do some cleaning in your business:

1. Analyze the products and services that just aren’t selling and dump them.  I recently did this and got rid of some of my least popular offerings and focused on the ones that generate income for me.
2. Find out what’s wasting time or money in your business and get rid of it. I had another blog that simply wasn’t doing much, even though I had a ton of content on it.  It’s gone. I also streamlined my email and phone by having an assistant only forward the messages I need.
3. Clean your desktop or laptop. Give it a good scrub – and get rid of files, programs and other stuff you don’t need. Lifehacker.com gives some great tips on this.
