“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 11 Recap

I’m convinced that the Dexter writers have been threatened to win a bunch of awards for this season since every episode is getting better and better and BETTER! Did you see it last night?! Holy smokes! I thought the last two weeks were amazing but this was insanely good.
Where to start… okay, LaGuerta and Batista are found out after a surveillance camera shows them making out in a liquor store before a robbery. They get threatened with disciplinary action and, in retaliation, they get married and basically challenge the brass to condemn them for being husband and wife. Of course, …read more

I thought Dexter was killer (pun intended) last week but tonight’s episode had me screaming – literally. It was absolutely crazy with intensity. We already knew from last episode that Christine is Trinity’s daughter but, of course, no one else really knew and we didn’t know the extent of her knowledge about her father’s murderous behavior.
Deb agrees to sit down with this witch and she asks Batista to watch the exchange, secretly of course. When Deb pulls out the post-mortem pictures of Lundy from the crime scene, Christine abruptly ends the interview and leaves – but not before …read more

Last night’s episode of Dexter was crazy – literally. There were all sorts of twists and hints at oddities that it’s hard to even know where to begin. I guess we’ll just start with the more mundane stuff.
LaGuerta and Batista continued to have a hard time being around each other without ripping each other’s clothes off. Eventually, the inevitable happened and they got it on in one of the conference rooms. Of course, they are risking their careers but sometimes love is more important, right?
Quinn’s suspicions about Dexter are growing. He commented on the fact that the blood spatter analyst …read more

Last night’s episode of Dexter began with the arm of a female victim being found in the belly of an alligator. One might assume that the animal was the culprit but wounds on the wrist showed that the woman had been murdered before she was fed to the gators. After the victim was identified, Miami Homicide discovers that she was a model and was among several women who had disappeared after working with a certain photographer.
Meanwhile, Quinn’s reporter girlfriend, Christina, tries to get an interview with Debra and the detective asks her big brother to help get her off …read more

Last night’s episode of Dexter began with the Trinity Killer singing in church of all places. Dexter reviews all of the things about the man’s life that suggest he has a normal existence – wife, children, religion – with the exception of the serial killing, of course.
At home, Dexter is dealing with the fact that Rita is still angry about learning that he’s hung on to his apartment. She has asked him to empty the place and has set up an appointment with a couple’s therapist too. Wow…
Trinity has committed his latest murder and Debra already knows where it’s happened …read more

Last night’s episode opened with Dexter running toward the crime scene where his sister Deb and Detective Lundy were gunned down. Deb was being loaded into the back of an ambulance while Lundy was laying face down, dead, in the parking lot. Of course, Dexter wondered what Deb and Lundy were doing together at a hotel at 5am but the looks on Batista and LaGuerta’s face explained it all.
At the hospital, Dexter tries to get Deb to tell him what happened and she recounted the tragic story but without any real useful information. Anton arrives at the hospital to …read more

This week’s episode of Dexter was called “Dexter Takes a Holiday” but it’s not the main character who leaves. Rita takes the kids out of town for three days (thank goodness, my patience with her has really run thin) and Dexter takes the opportunity to set up his next kill.
This time, Dexter is trying to figure out whether a local policewoman named Zoe is responsible for the deaths of her family.
Meanwhile, Debra and Lundy continue to try to find a link between the Trinity Killer and some recent Miami murders. Can I just take a quick moment to talk about …read more

Last night’s episode of Dexter was all over the place which is fitting since I think Dexter’s world is a huge mess. He’s trying so hard to figure out how to fit in with the other “normal” people that he actually ends up looking like a freak. Fortunately, it’s not long before he discovers that he’s not alone.
After his house is vandalized with spray paint, he comes home to find Rita and all of their neighbors convened in his living room for a Neighborhood Watch meeting. The neighbors have devised a plan to make sure that their street is being …read more

Dexter was crazy intense last night. I was stressed from the first minute to the very last second.
The episode started off with Dexter upside down in his car after his serious rollover accident. He was taken to the hospital and, despite being warned of a possible head injury/concussion, he left with Rita (without telling her how serious the accident was) since he couldn’t remember what he did with Benny’s body.
Meanwhile, Lundy is still investigating the Trinity Killer case which brings him into direct contact with Debra. It’s clear that there is still some chemistry between them despite the fact that …read more
“Dexter” and “Californication” Break Records

Showtime is celebrating with good reason. The season premieres of both Dexter and Californication debuted with record-breaking numbers for the shows. In fact, the first episode of this fourth season of Dexter is the highest single-telecast delivery since they changed their ratings system in 2004.
I’m thrilled because I think that both of these shows are pretty outstanding and I’m glad that audiences agree.
Dexter pulled in 1.924 million viewers while Californication attracted 1.203 million. That’s pretty amazing for cable television shows (especially since this isn’t HBO, it’s Showtime folks).
I guess it helps that both series left off on sort of …read more
