A Nintendo DS glucose reader for kids that can be plugged into the DS or DS Lite’s Slot-2 has came been out on the market. Paul Wessel, the parent of a diabetic child, has helped to develop the Bayer’s DIDGET meter which can reward children for consistent testing.

Test results can be converted into reward points which can be used in the game to unlock levels and purchase in-game stuff. The games are Knock ‘Em Down: World’s Fair video game and Mini Game Arcade.
A pretty useful DS device to help the kids but not for the DSi though.

Apparently I live under a rock, because I just read about this new exercise pill over at Healthbolt.
It mimics the cardiovascular effects of exercise in rats- increasing their endurance and lowering their body fat.
The effects of this pill (if proven safe for humans) will be helpful for people with high cardiovascular risk, diabetes and any other physical ailment that could prevent people from working out.
Thoughts?
