Obviously, many will disagree with my view as auto-posting is quite widespread within the blogosphere. In any case, whenever I come across a link post in my RSS reader, 99% of the time I’ll just skip over it. Blog posts are meant to spur discussions and create conversations.
The answer is pretty simple: I don’t have time to blog about all the great stuff I find and I want to share it with you.

Let me explain how I use Diigo and that should help here.

There are two levels of bookmarks I set here. One level are the ones that I share to the Maple Leaf 2.0 group, those are published as an RSS feed on the sidebar.

The next level is those I want to publish in the link blog.

Both groups I want to share with you. Maybe it’s a great thought-provoking post, or a friend, or just interesting. The ones that I post daily as a post, are ones important enough that if I had time I would blog them, but just won’t be able to so I’d still like the link love and readers to be shared.

I’m trying to keep the links in the daily post to be really good, and not even do it everyday, but that’s why I do it.

Work for you?

There are certainly enough geeks and techies in Victoria and if this Twitterlocal pull of twitter users within 20 miles of Victoria (that’s about 30 km, btw) is any indication, well I think we could have a great time.
My preference would be a good coffee place with WiFi, but hey who knows right?
Okay Victoria twitterati, let’s get this going!

I’ve been playing with Diigo for a while and getting more and more impressed with it. One of the things that I like about it over del.icio.us is the groups feature. So to that end I’ve created a freely open Diigo group for Maple Leaf 2.0.

Please go ahead and go and sign up for Diigo then this new group and start sharing bookmarks!

Lots of buzz yesterday about the v.3 of Diigo, the social bookmarking service yesterday. As someone who only sorta uses del.icio.us I thought I’d just look and move on.
Reading everyone’s reviews (especially Rafe’s on Webware) I started thinking maybe there might be more to it:

Lots of buzz yesterday about the v.3 of Diigo, the social bookmarking service yesterday. As someone who only sorta uses del.icio.us I thought I’d just look and move on.

Reading everyone’s reviews (especially Rafe’s on Webware) I started thinking maybe there might be more to it:

Social Bookmarking 2.0 – Diigo Sets The Standard for Others to Follow– bub.blicio.us

As usual I waited until I had a chance to use it a bit before I wrote this (that and I had a helluva time getting the Firefox extension loaded–my fault not theirs). Thus far I’m pretty impressed. Diigo looks more polished than del.icio.us, the features for importing are nice as well.

Although the toolbar was a pain to install, once I did get it done, I like it. Nice buttons, easy connections to bookmarks and friends.

For example here is what it looks like checking out Rafe’s post (yes, very meta I know):

The question, like Marshall pointed out in his review on RWW, is will this have staying power for users. These sites are great and cool when you start using them, but often the luster wears off quickly.

If you want to check out my bookmarks I’m trishussey (as usual) on Diigo I’m also putting bookmarks that I think will be of particular interest to ML2 readers on the side bar with the tag ML2.

Are you using social bookmarks? Do you check you and use the bookmarks people save?
