Dikembe Mutombo Says His Career is Over

Dikembe Mutombo, the 42-year-old center for the Houston Rockets, was injured during Game 2 of the team’s first round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Following the contest, Mutombo said that his 18-year career in the NBA had come to an end.
During the first quarter, Mutombo was fighting for positions with Blazers rookie Greg Oden. After falling hard, Mutombo stayed on the ground in obvious pain. Once taken to the locker room, Mutombo said that he shed tears because he realized he had come to the end of the road.

Hilarious, hilarious impressions. As the Rockets continue to win without any regard for the records of their opponents, it appears that they’re having quite a bit of fun. Here’s a clip from the local FSN affiliate featuring Dikembe Mutombo’s teammates doing their best Dikembe. Not only is the video entertaining, it’s educational. I’ve learned that Dikembe Mutombo doesn’t like wind sprints, does some odd thing with his hands when he talks and has been in the league anywhere from 16-20 years. Guilty by Association: LeBron Dunks, Also Wins

- LeBron James and the Cavaliers took down the Bulls. The game can be summed in the following clip.

Visual aids are fun. Although, I still prefer the flying toasters screensaver, Mike Tirico.
- The Yao-less Rockets won their 15th straight and Dikembe Mutombo demonstrated that he is indeed still in the NBA by blocking three shots.
- Dirk sunk a three to send the game to overtime, then missed horribly with a similar attempt in overtime. Kobe Bryant scored 52 points.
