The Williams sisters have announced they will be back on the court at the same time – and on the same side of the net – for the Australian Open in 2008.
Their ranking is completely kaput as they haven’t competed significantly since 2003 but if the Williams duo have shown anything, they’ve shown that rankings mean nothing. They can play well when ranked at the top and they can play well when ranked 9999.
They’re dynamic. In the midst of so much controversy in the tennis game, the return of the Williams’ is good news.

Singles or doubles? Dating is just like tennis – most people prefer single dates to double dates and most people prefer the singles tour to the doubles tour. Why? I don’t know – maybe because there is more action.
