Are NCAA Drug Rules Too Harsh?

Jeremy Jarmon of the Kentucky Wildcats is officially ineligible for his senior season, according to reports. The NCAA deemed him ineligible due to a failed drug test. Jarmon insists that he inadvertantly took the substance, but his appeal has been denied.
The defensive end says that he had been taking a supplement for 15 days while recovering from an injury, and immediately stopped taking the supplement when trainers told him that the substance was against rules. Mohammad Asif caught with drugs!
Now this one is shocking! Not the fact that Asif has a thing for drugs, we know that already. But the fact that he had the balls to carry it with him when landing on the Dubai Airport! It is another matter that when he left the Mumbai Airport, he must still be having the drugs on him, but you know about the security at Indian airports (if you don’t, trust me you wouldn’t want to know).

Pakistani fast bowlers Shoaib Ahktar and Mohammed Asif both received bans (2 years and 1 year respectively) for failing drug tests for banned substance nandrolone. This is the first case of the use of performance enhancing drugs in Cricket (Shane Warne taking diuretics was only designed to improve his performance off the pitch…).
