Dwyane Wade Injury Update – Ribs

When healthy, Dwyane Wade is one of the best players in the NBA. Last year, for example, he was healthy and was considered by many the NBA’s MVP. With that said, the Miami Heat couldn’t like the news that Wade has a strained muscle that forced him to miss Sunday’s preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs.
The strained muscle is located near his rib cage on the left side. However, the exact diagnosis isn’t known at the moment.
“I don’t think I got hit or anything,” Wade told the Miami Herald. “But you never know. You just want to make sure …read more

Michael Beasley Out of Rehab

Michael Beasley has had an eventful summer. Earlier in the offseason, Beasley got busted by posting a picture on Twitter that had some suspicious items. He then entered a rehab facility. Now, a month latter, Beasley is out of rehab and ready to participate in the upcoming training camp for the Miami Heat.
While Beasley was in rehab, he had contact with members of the Heat organization on a daily basis. Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of the Heat, thinks Beasley is prepared for training camp.
Said Spoelstra: “We’ve spent a great deal of time with him this summer, trying to develop …read more

Hawks Cool Off Heat in Game 7

Welcome, Atlanta, to the second round. Not that long the Hawks were a joke of a team. Now? They have moved on to the second round of the 2009 NBA playoffs after defeating the Miami Heat in Game 7 by a final score of 91-78.
Leading the way for the Hawks was All-Star guard Joe Johnson. In 44 minutes, Johnson had 27 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. He hit 10-of-19 shots from the floor and 6-of-8 three-pointers. He got help from Josh Smith’s 21 points and nine rebounds, Mike Bibby’s 11 points and six assists and the 15 …read more

The Heat’s superstar, who led the NBA in scoring this season, is now averaging 28.8 points per game in the playoffs.
The Heat led 32-18 after the end of the first quarter and the Hawks struggled to mount any sort of comeback. The second half was dominated by Miami and they were able to post a resounding 98-72 win.

Dwyane Wade Explodes for 55 for Heat

Dwyane Wade has been marvelous during the 2008-09 NBA season. On Easter Sunday, he scored a new career-high 55 as the Miami Heat beat the New York Knicks by a final score of 122-105.
Wade scored his 55 without taking many shots. He finished the game 19-30 from the field, 6-for-12 from beyond the three-point line and 11-for-13 at the charity stripe. He also chipped in with nine rebounds and four assists in his 39 minutes of action.
With the win, the 42-38 Heat are now locked into the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. They will open the playoffs on the …read more

Dwyane Wade is the Best Player in the NBA

Right now, Dwyane Wade is the best player in the NBA. And it’s not even close. Move over Kobe Bryant. Step aside LeBron James. There’s a new king in town.
Don’t believe me? Check out these stats. Since the All-Star break, Wade is averaging 36.5 points per game, 10.8 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.5 blocks. Those are just disgusting numbers. Cut the numbers in half and they are still better numbers than most starters in the NBA average.
Since leading the Miami Heat to the 2006 NBA Championship, Wade hasn’t been able to live up to the hype. He’s mostly …read more

Band-Wade Outlawed by the NBA

If you’ve watched Dwyane Wade at all this season, you’ve probably noticed that he likes to wear a band-aid on his face. Actually, Wade’s band-aid is called a Band-Wade. Yes, try not to laugh.
Although self expression isn’t rare in the NBA, the Band-Wade was more like Band-Lame. And I say “was” because the NBA has outlawed the use of the Band-Wade in games from now on. If Wade actually has a condition on his face that requires band-aid, he’s free to wear a regular band-aid.
Usually, such censorship would be met with harsh critiques, however I don’t think anyone is sad …read more

Just a Reminder, the Miami Heat were NBA Champs Two Years Ago

In semi-related news, my words shape the future. I am a conduit of time-force, or something. You see, last Thursday, when discussing Pat Reilly’s genius plan to avoid having to go to Miami Heat games, I casually joked that Dwyane Wade’s plan was to “just get seriously hurt, like he does every year.” Then, today:
Dwyane Wade’s season with the Miami Heat is over.
Heat coach Pat Riley announced Monday that Wade, the All-Star guard and 2006 NBA finals MVP who has battled left knee pain throughout the season, will not play in Miami’s final 21 games this year.
“I think it’s time,” …read more

Pat Reilly Doesn’t Want to Watch the Heat Either

Pat Reilly has had enough. He can’t watch this bullshit anymore. He’s going to watch some NCAA ball instead of coaching. Seriously.
Riley said Thursday that “there’s a possibility” he will “miss one or two” upcoming Heat games because he wants to travel to the various NCAA conference tournaments and start seeing players who’ll potentially be in this year’s draft.
“I’ll be flying in and out,” Riley said. “But I think right now, I’ve got to do that. I need to do that.”
If this didn’t work, I’d expect Pat Reilly to be constantly calling in with “a stomach thing” that people didn’t …read more
