Earl Boykins (note &#8211; picture is not actual size) has decided he&#8217;s had enough of the National Basketball Association.  Boykins has signed a one-year deal with the Italian club Vitus Bologna, worth $3.5 million.
The second most famous Eastern Michigan basketball player (the most famous is George Gervin) will become the highest-paid player in the Italian league next season.  Boykins, 32, has spent 10 years in the NBA, most recently with the Charlotte Bobcats.

<p>Earl Boykins (note &#8211; picture is not actual size) has decided he&#8217;s had enough of the National Basketball Association.  <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/sports/basketball/story/2008/08/05/boykins-italy.html">Boykins has signed a one-year deal</a> with the Italian club Vitus Bologna, worth $3.5 million.</p>
<p>The second most famous Eastern Michigan basketball player (the most famous is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Gervin">George Gervin</a>) will become the highest-paid player in the Italian league next season.  Boykins, 32, has spent <a href="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/earl_boykins/career_stats.html">10 years in the NBA</a>, most recently with the Charlotte Bobcats.</p>
<p>Boykins hasn&#8217;t exactly been a starter in his time in the NBA.  In fact, last season Boykins didn&#8217;t register even one start and saw action in only 36 contests.  Boykins started a career high 19 games in the 2006-07 season with the Milwaukee Bucks.</p>
