Tips for Responding to eBay Customer Questions
The fundamental rules of customer service apply to eBay sellers as well. When responding to customer inquiries, always keep these tips in mind:
1) Reply quickly and accurately
2) Always be friendly and courteous
3) Never send one word email responses
4) Use “please” and “thank you”
5) Start the reply with “Thank you for contacting us.”
6) At the end of every email, inlcude “if you have any other questions, please contact us again.”
7) If possible, use the buyer’s name
8) Always include your name in the email

eBay Sellers Unable to Accept Returns – Why?
I see this type of statement on eBay listings quite frequently, “I do my best to assure customer satisfaction. However, I am unable to allow returns or refunds.” As a eBay customer, and eBay consultant, I have to ask, why? You are “able” to do anything you want, it is your eBay store.
This type of statement will literally cripple your online business and says to your customers, “Once I get your money, you won’t see it again, even if you aren’t satisfied with the purchase.” How can sellers expect potential customers to trust them without standing by their products?
