Seems like hardly a day passes by without a new ebook reader hitting the market. Today, IREX took the wraps off of its new ereader, the DR 800SG. What’s IREX bringing to the table? An easy-to-use design, nearly endless ebook format options, and wireless connectivity.
IREX’s new ereader measures 8.1″ and utilizes a stylus for input. (Engadget points out that IREX is planning a touchscreen device for 2010, and a color reader for 2011.) Asus Plans Cheap, Double-Pane eBook Reader

The market for ebook readers grows daily, thanks to the success of Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s eReader, and now inexpensive tech maker Asus is preparing to enter the market with its own device. Here’s the twist: Asus plans to deliver more bang for the buck — at about half the price of Amazon and Sony’s products.

Sony one-ups Kindle with new ereader

Let’s be blunt: the ebook reader marketplace is lead and controlled by Amazon’s Kindle. But Sony is ready to change that by bringing a true contender to the marketplace. The Reader Daily Edition rounds out Sony’s family of three new ereaders with three major innovations that up the ante significantly.
Earlier this month, Sony announced the Reader Pocket Edition and the Reader Touch Edition.
