Calhoun Gets Win Number 800

Jim Calhoun and the soon-to-be number one ranked Huskies beat No. 8 Marquette 93-82 last night.
It’s not like Calhoun wasn’t one of the sport’s elite coaches, but now he joins Bob Knight, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Jim Phelan, Mike Krzyzewski and Eddie Sutton as the only other coaches to win 800 games.
I don’t know about you, but I think Calhoun deserves a raise.

*** UPDATED: January 4th – Sutton confirmed today that he will not return to coach USF next season. He also had the audacity to state “This program will be in better shape when I leave here than it was when I arrived.”
What a bunch of garbage. The only thing that will be “better” is your win/loss record, and given that USF has lost its first two games under your command, even that might not be true.
