His older brother, Jack, who was 15, asked to be the new baby’s godfather.

The Kennedy children: Joe, Jr., Jack (John F.), Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, Jean and Teddy grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts.

When Teddy was 6, Joseph Kennedy (Sr.) was named Ambassdor to the Court of St. James, and Teddy spent the next years 2 in England as World War II broke out.

Teddy followed in the footsteps of his 3 older brothers and enrolled in Harvard University in 1950. At the end of his freshman year he was expelled as a result of cheating on a Spanish exam (he’d had a classmate take the exam for him).

Ted immediately enlisted in the US Army, much to the dismay of his father. Joe, Sr., reportedly, used his influence to get Ted stationed in Paris for the extent of his 2 year committment.

After leaving the Army, Ted returned to Harvard, and he graduated in 1956. He then entered law school at the University of Virginia (where his brother, Bobby, had gone before him); he graduated in 1959.
