Engadget is Covering the Windows 7 Launch Live

The folks over at Engadget are live blogging the Microsoft launch of Windows 7. It’s weird to think about the next version of Windows already. Vista only seems like it’s been out for a little while. I guess it’s mostly because there was so much time between Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Engadget Gets More Details on IPTV on Xbox 360

Engadget has recently posted some details they have about Microsoft releasing a new version of the Xbox 360 with new hardware and features, including IPTV. Hopefully the following isn’t true:
It still seems a bit unreasonable for Microsoft, which has been bragging about its 10 million strong installed base, to leave those early adopters out in the cold, but if that’s the way it goes down we can’t say we won’t welcome the excuse to ditch the fan and disc drive hullabaloo of our current gen box.

Vista Gives a Little More Freedom

I remember hearing on one of the TWiT podcasts about the concern over the proposed restrictions on Vista being able to get reinstalled on a machine for legitimate purposes. This would occur if you had to reformat your computer or were a computer builder yourself and frequently rebuilt your entire machine.
Originally I believe Vista was to only allow 2 installs, which would be considered pretty stinkin’ restrictive. The rumors seem to be unfounded now though as the restrictions won’t be nearly as bad as originally thought.
