The Sehwag Ouster: Virendar Sehwag, India’s only triple centurion, has been kicked outta door. This is a big blow to all us Veeru fans. Go rant and cry for justice.

If you’ve had a topsy-turvy schedule like me, you probably don’t know what’s happening in the world of cricket. And you’ve missed all the action. But don’t worry, that’s what the round-ups are for.

The Sehwag Ouster: Virendar Sehwag, India’s only triple centurion, has been kicked outta door. This is a big blow to all us Veeru fans. Go rant and cry for justice.

India v. Pak: I’ve only watched the afternoon session today, mainly because it’s Sunday (and that’s good excuse for procrastination). The only thing I observed was that the pitch was pathetically slow, and the ball wasn’t coming on to the bat on most occasions, and that Ishant Sharma is having a bit of a problem with his line and maybe also run-up. Someone said there’s nothing in this match for a bowler. Well, actually there is. Irfan Pathan cracked out a ton. See? For more, I went straight to Sam (again) and Tcwj.

My favorite reads are the rants kind, because I do them so very often myself. Anyway, at Cricket with balls, they are telling us why South Africa stinks. That’s a dahling topic with them. After Gary Kirsten’s appointment as captain, I’ve suddenly started taking interest in these sort of discussions big time.

I’ve yet to discover a good English cricket blog, so to feed my curiosity on SL-Eng, I’d usually hop to Cricket Next. Stuart Broad made his much-awaited test debut. Someone out there must be very happy. Oh, just figured that would be me.

Chris Cairns crafted a record 50 in an ICL match. Things like this sometimes make me want to follow ICL.

Ottayan, as we know has insider info on all things cricket and always beats us all to it, while Pankaj, aka Pan, is my friend because he likes Murali.

Now who managed to finish reading this in just 10 seconds?

Australian bowlers strove fruitlessly to send Sangakkara packing, but eventually, it took an umpire to do that.
King, as he’s known over here at Six and Out, gets our Hero spot this week, above all the Phils, Husseys, and Yuvrajs, for his could-have-been match-winning 192.
I’ve posted this before, but I am going to post his sledging video again, which is a classic in itself.
When Panesar & Co. walk out to the fields this winter, Sangakkara is going to be one man they would want to beat.

Monty Panesar, England’s wonder boy, suffered at the hands of former England coach Duncan Fletcher last year, missing some important opportunities, but good times are about to roll in for him. He has coach Peter Moores’ confidence ahead of their three-match Test encounter with Sri Lanka.

As soon Monty heard he’s Coach’s fave, his hypothalamus is activated (actually, he’s trying to do just that here in the above pic), and it sends signals across the body and his adrenaline is send gushing through it. See how profusely he sets himself to practice.

–

England vs. Sri Lanka

Actually, this is a time in England’s cricketing history when players are actually competing hard to get in. That Steve Harmison was flown in to join the squad meant bad news for the other pace battery prospects. Ryan Sidebottom is one who looks good, and his impressive runs in the recent past will stand him in good stead. They might want to wait on Broad, though (my left brain complies with the idea, but right brain kicks it hard in the rear). James Anderson looks bad, and worse, he’s faced with fitness issues, which, if not resolved, will ensure Broad’s Test debut. (right brain neurons firing at abnormal speed).

I’ll bet on Alastair Cook as far as the batting side of things is concerned.(Hey, Betfair guys, whadya say?)

England would definitely have an edge over the SL side, since they beat the Lankans in the ODI series, and we aren’t sure how much Jayawardhane’s boys have learned from their Australian debacle. Plus, England’s pace line-up looks darn strong, and Monty’s ready to spin them around.
