TGIF
If you’re in California (or heading that way) the Monterey Beer Festival looks like an event worth checking out.
Something to do this weekend
If you’re up in the Northwest (or have frequent flyer miles to burn), the Portland International Beerfest looks like the real deal – 140 different beers, a beer garden, and an impressive international showing. I may have to put this one on the calendar for next year. If you go, let us know how it is.
Cheese and beer, beer and cheese
How can you not be intrigued by the Dairy State Cheese and Beer Festival, to be held in Kenosha, Wisconsin this Saturday? I love cheese, I love beer, and both together sounds like a Saturday well spent.
The list of breweries is quite interesting with some local brews, a surprising number of European and international brands, including some less well known, as well as … Genny Light??
Check it out, and report back if you do.
More beer festivals
Those of you looking for an excuse to head to the mountains in April may want to check out the TAPS beer festival in New York’s Catskills Mountains, scheduled for late April. If you can’t make that one, there’s a festival dedicated to matching beer with food in Washington DC in mid May.
Philly Beer Week
Tomorrow marks the start of Philly Beer Week, a ten day celebration of beer in the City of Brotherly Love. So, whether you live in the area already or you’re thinking of a long weekend, check out the events and consider stopping in.
Unfortunately, I’ll be reporting from the UK for almost the same exact period of time (oh the irony), so you’ll have to tell me how it is.
