Be sure to mark your calendars for January 17th, boys and girls! That’s the day Danny Bonaduce jumps in the ring (again!) to fight Jose Canseco.

Is there anything better than the world of celebrity wrestling? Seriously, every time I think there’s no way they will get someone to embarass themselves again, I’m proven wrong. Over at Philly.com they say Bonaduce showed up for his first day of work at WYSP last week with “pack of Marlboro reds, an asthma inhaler and Commit lozenges at hand.”

They also said he “smokes five cigarettes sitting up in bed before he gets up in the morning.”

His new girlfriend (cuz you all know he ended up getting divorced after Breaking Bonaduce) is apparently trying to help him to quit. Lucky gal that she is!

Whether Bonaduce quits smoking or not, WHAT is Jose Canseco thinking! Did he NOT see the first round Bonaduce celeb boxing events? Does he not know that Bonaduce boxes for fun and excitement? Did he not see Greg Brady get hammered? Even with the outrageous smoking habit, Bonaduce is one serious badass! And a touch loco besides. I wouldn’t get in the ring with him, would you?

Gary Sheffield has a chip on his shoulder the size of Gisele Bundchen\’s up-for-auction diamond ring. Or larger.\r\n\r\nThe Detroit Tigers slugger, who traded brawl-triggering punches with Cleveland Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona this weekend, isn\’t about to forgive and forget. (Sheffield was suspended for 4 games; Carmona, 6).\r\n\r\nShef is mighty ticked at the Indians who threw \”cheap shots\” and has big plans—big, we tell you—to take matters into his own hands. Hey, keep it PG-13! We meant another fist fight.\r\n\r\nAnyway, to that we say: Um, OK. What. Ev. Ah.\r\n\r\nConveniently enough, we\’re going to the Sox-Indians game tonight. (Look for us behind the visitor\’s on-deck circle . . .a blondie chick and a silver-haired fox—that would be The Bee—each with red team jackets! Yay!)\r\n\r\nWe\’ll be close to the Indians dugout, so we\’ll be sure to pass on Sheffield\’s ready-for-round-two message. You know what we like? We like the way some people just seize the moment. Really. When opportunity knocks, you’d better not assume it a Jehovah’s Witness and not answer the door.

Take this guy: In the midst of last night’s bench-clearing brawl between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians, he saw a chance to become a streaker and didn’t pass it up.

So who feels like the bigger idiot today—the streaker or Mr. Crabby Patty Tigers fan?

You know how much we enjoy posting brawls on this blog–Coco Crisp and the Rays, the LA Sparks and Detroit Shock (what is it with Detroit?), and now the insta-classic between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians.

This one gets high marks for originality. Ex-Yankee (who apparently still has the ‘tude) Gary Sheffield was hit by a Fausto Carmona pitch . . . but wait till you see how the tension builds before the fists fly:

You know we can’t pass up a good brawl video.

The Kansas City Royals knocked the Chicago White Sox out of first today with a 14-3 spanking. The knocking also became literal as the Royals’ Miguel Olivo charged the mound after being hit in the wrist by ChiSox pither D. J. Carrasco.

You know the rest of the story. Tempers flared, fists raised up, benches cleared, and ejections ensued.

And, in the spirit of the upcoming Olympics, we’ve decided to award medals to three of the more notorious pro sports brawls of late.

Gold Medal: Coco Crisp and the Tampa Bay Rays

Silver Medal: Los Angeles Sparks and Detroit Shock

Bronze Medal: Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox (51s):

You know us. We’re all about the brawls on this blog. (Coco Crisp versus the Tampa Bay Rays being among the most notable). We can’t let a good bench-clearing tussle slip by without posting the footage.

We all know Danica Patrick has a little edge to her from time to time. And we all know she isn’t the most popular kid on the block among other IRL drivers.

Once upon a time, we thought she was cute even when she was mad, as evidenced by our commentary in this video of a Danica tantrum aimed at Ryan Briscoe this past May.

We’re kinda sorta thinking twice about that “cute” tag. Now the old standby “crankypants” comes to mind instead. That and Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling in 20 years or so.

Wait, we need a moment to compose ourselves. We’re still laughing at the idea of the Hulk’s show lasting two seasons, never mind two decades.

Ok, we’re back. Watch as rant-astic Danica goes head-to-head (2m, 1s) with the IRL’s less headline-grabbing female driver, Milka Duno. Patrick made it clear that Duno’s driving didn’t get the Danica Seal of Approval during a practice session at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Everyone expected Boston Red Sox centerfielder Coco Crisp to get beaned after his hand-to-nutsack combat with Tampa Bay Rays’ Achinori Iwamura yesterday, but this turned into a brawl normally reserved for a Sox-Yanks smackdown.

Crisp got tossed, as did Rays pitcher James Shields and outfielder Jonny Gomes.

Check out the fight as well as the 5th inning WTF?-scuffle between Manny Ramirez and Kevin Youlikis in the dugout.
