I am a freebie addict. If it is free, or I can get it free with a rebate, coupon, sale, or rewards program, I get it. I like beating the system. Maybe like a gambling addiction?

I have too much free stuff from CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. It is cluttering up my eBay closet. Somebody is going to get all this stuff. Read the rules HERE. You just have to about the contest on your blog, on a forum, on your FaceBook page, MySpace page, LiveJournal, just put it somewhere!

Are you a “black belt” couponer? Are you religious about sending in rebates to get money back on items you have purchased? Do you participate in rewards programs to get discounts and free items? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you might want to consider selling these free items on eBay for some extra cash.

Most drug stores have some type of rewards program where you can receive free items each week if you just pay attention to the sale flyers or the monthly catalog in the front of the store. You can also check blogs like Money Saving Mom, Sisterly Savings, and The Sensible Sawyer to read about deals for freebies that other readers have put together using store sales, Sunday paper coupons, mail in rebates, and online coupons.

Now, you may be thinking, “Why would anyone buy drug store items on eBay when they can just go to the store and get these items whenever they want?” The point is, maybe they can’t. You have to think globally here. Not everyone has access to all the products we have in every corner drugstore in the USA. Furthermore, not everyone in all parts of the USA has access to the same products. And don’t forget the military – they love to receive American products overseas. So if you get something free, and sell it on eBay at less than retail, you are still making money but charging less than a retailer for the same item.

Examples of good drug store items to sell on eBay for profit (think specialty products and consumable goods that have to be replenished on a regular basis):

razors and refills
stop smoking kits
teeth whiteners
vitamins
diet and weight loss products
specialty shampoos and hair products
battery operated toothbrushes and replacement heads
perfume and cologne
