I’m currently managing over 50 WordPress installations and continuing adding new clients that I begin installing WordPress for their use as well. As part of my management of their sites, I have a group of WordPress plugins that I like to use and always install for clients.

I’ve chosen FileZilla as my FTP program of choice. I’ve used CuteFTP, SmartFTP, and FireFTP within Firefox to manage transferring files. Given that I’m using FileZilla and it’s a powerful application there’s something I’d think it should be able to do and it can’t.

Sometimes it would be nice to be able to host all of your images for your blogs in a single location that you could access from anywhere and manage separately from your blogging server. I use WordPress and their image management has come a long way, but today I needed to host an image external to the blog hosting site. Windows Live Writer makes it easy to accomplish that task.

I made the “professional” switch over to ASP.NET development awhile back and began using Visual Web Developer Express (VWDE) for all my business clients with the day job. I’ve still kept Dreamweaver 8 installed though because I have a few clients that still use it so it’s nice to be able to open and view exactly what they’ve done in the default editor as well.
There are a number of things I still really like about Dreamweaver that I wish VWDE would incorporate into their product.
