Run it Twice at Full Tilt Poker

Have you heard of “running it twice”? When poker players run it twice, they are agreeing to have the remaining community cards dealt twice to hammer out any variance from bad beats or coin flips. Full Tilt Poker is in the beta process in implementing that feature in the high dollar games and will eventually integrate it to more poker tables. This is a pretty cool advancement and could be a sign of things to come in the future.
If you watch High Stakes Poker, then you’ve probably seen the players do this postflop. No word on …read more

Full Tilt Poker Going to Court

Bot programs aren’t necessarily cheating in poker.  The regular bot programs simply play as if they were a regular player and play the game based on patterns, stats, and percentage plays.
Because online poker is more about making the “right play” than it is reads, bot programs can rack up money just from playing by the numbers.  Full Tilt expressly forbids this in their player agreements, but people being people, a few players decided to rack up easy cash with a robot poker program.
Life was good for the players using the bots until Full Tilt closed their accounts and the 80k …read more

Poker After Dark: Durrrr Needles Phil Ivey

Tom “Durrrr” Dwan’s journey from nothing to elite has been amazing. Not only has he gone from rags to riches in online poker, but he’s transcended into an elite in person player like it was no problem. In this Poker After Dark clip, he’s sitting amongst a few of the very best cash game players in the world, including the best, Phil Ivey.
The interesting thing about this video is that Durrrr actually tries to have some fun with the Great One. I’m not sure if Dwan intentionally asked Phil Ivey if Ivey had been playing well against …read more

Face the Ace Already Short Stacked?

PokerNews had a feature column detailing disappointing ratings for FaceTheAce, the new NBC and Full Tilt Poker program.
Here are the two glaring problems I see.  First, the pros don’t look like they care at all what happens (no pride factor).  Second, what average joe contestant is going to pass up $40,000 for possibly a 50/50 chance at $200,000?  And even if they did, who is going to risk 200k for another possible 50/50 chance at $1m?
A third problem is the poker feels a little hurried and forced.  After all, it is a game show on prime time tv (Saturday PT …read more

Table Image in Poker

Whether you are green or experienced in poker, it is a good idea to assess your poker image at the table and see if just the way about you is giving off tells. I can tell you from experience that a person’s general demeanor and personality are very important to how I formulate their table image and definitely influence my play at the table. Just about everyone – whether consciously or subconsciously – has their decisions against you influenced by your table image.
The different images people give off are somewhat common sensical. Friendly people usually don’t play …read more

The Awesome Durrrr Challenge

Tom Dwan, whose online moniker has earned him the nickname “durrrr“, issued a mammoth challenge recently that has had the online poker world buzzing.  The challenge is as follows: The challenge is open to any poker player in the world with the stipulation that each of Dwan’s opponents has to play him for 50,000 hands at four tables at the same time.  (The sessions can be broken up over time.)  The games can be either no-limit hold’em or pot-limit Omaha.
At the conclusion of 50,000 hands, if Dwan is up any amount over his opponent, even one dollar, his opponent must …read more

Eric Seidel Full Tilt Ad

This new Full Tilt ad isn’t quite as funny as the Phil Ivey one that came out last year with his ‘greatest poker face in the world,’ but still better than most of the ones out there. Not sure why I never seem to see these actually funny ads over the hyper-poetic ones on TV. Somebody should send a memo.
Eric Seidel, he really does have a great poker face. He always looks bored to the point of tears.

Anyone seeing this one on the air in their local area? Maybe after 10 PM?

Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game

The roster of Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game season 3 has been announced, with a cast of big poker names that smells suspiciously like the High Stakes Poker’s recent seasons:
Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Erick Lindgren, Andy Bloch, Allen Cunningham, Eli Elezra, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, and Tony G.
I’ve yet to catch this show other than random online excerpts, anyone got two cents to throw in on its legitimacy?
Here’s an excerpt from YouTube, I don’t like the blackjack style table:

Last 5 Minutes

Here are two hands I played in the last five minutes.
Hand 1, big bets preflop, dude didn’t have much left, got it all in even though I somehow felt sure he had flopped the jacks, I couldn’t lay it down for what he had, fun, thanks Full Tilt.

Hand 2, almost the very next hand, raised on button knowing big blind dude was going to try to play back at me because he didn’t like me playing position, he came over the top all in instead of just raising to see what’s up, horrible donkey play, I called.

See ya later $250.

Full Tilt Poker Fun

Never takes long at Full Tilt. Your’re pretty much guaranteed every 15 minutes to see a hand that makes you go Ewww and think ‘Yeah these hands are ridiculous.’
And as always, the hand that is behind when the money gets in, gets there. Like clockwork.
I’m still not sure Full Tilt is rigged, per say, but there’s definitely a high number of grossnesses.
Yeah, you play more hands, but something about these seems unnatural. More hands does not mean an unusually high # of improbable situations. It means a few more.
Computer coding is weird.
Once again, at least it wasn’t me (though I …read more
