Too much cricket these days?

I spent a sleepless month in September. You know why. The T20 World Cup. I finally got my forty winks after the final. Before my eyes could adapt to light, Australia came down and I found myself entrapped again. But it seems a little different with the Indian Oil Cup. I’ll admit that I was never oh so looking forward to it. With the first match turning out to be a fizzle, I have actually decided to help Mom out with Diwali prep during the holiday.

Jokes can win you matches– even against the Ozzies.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not too happy with how the series has turned out. But as they say, a win is a win is a win is a….
Soon after Karthik hit the winning four, he was questioned by one of the commentators, “It was pretty tight when you walked in. But it looked like you batted very coolly. How’d you do it?”
He was like, “Nothing much. We exchanged jokes after overs and kept perking each other up.”

It’s Sunday and I can’t fake it.

Okay, I know I have been faking all this while that I have practically no interest in the Future Cup, and I have intentionally refrained from babbling about it (until it became absolutely necessary).
BUT
No school. Sunday. Autumn break. Id (= no power cuts). Well, ohkay. I give up. I’ll go and watch some cricket!

Following some of Sreesanth’s antics in the first two one-dayers, Warney was quoted as saying:
I don’t think anything was over the top, so I think it’s going to add a bit of spice to the summer.
