Fewer People on the Road this July 4th

Just like last summer, AAA is predicting a significant drop in the amount of travelers that will drive for more than 50 miles away from home. AAA blames this on a sudden increase in the price of gasoline and a general lack of disposable income in many households across the country, mostly due to the weak economy.

Have You Cut Your Business Trips?

The news is full of stories these days about the effects of high gasoline prices:
People are buying fewer cars, especially trucks and large SUVs;
People are driving less;
Flight prices are increasing;
The price of consumer goods is increasing as companies pass on rising costs for transportation and production.
What I want to know is: Are companies cutting back on business trips because of high fuel prices?
Has travel (by car or plane) become too costly or is the need to see customers and colleagues in person large enough to swamp rising fuel prices?
