Heading into the 50th running of NASCAR’s “Great American Race”, this year’s Daytona 500 has already proven to us beyond a shadow of a doubt that this track is not shy when it comes to both hype and the ability to produce storylines. The 2008 Sprint Cup season has been one of the most talked about seasons in professional sports history, and every bit of it has transcended itself to Daytona, which is set to kick off here in just a few short hours. As we gear up for the official kickoff of the most elite series in all of …read more
Season Preview: Hendrick Motorsports

At this point, I’m not really sure what can be said about Rick Hendrick and Hendrick Motorsports that hasn’t already been stated a million times by now. It’s safe to say that Rick hasn’t built race teams or simply just an organization, he’s crafted and molded together a dynasty in oh, roughly twenty years time. In a potential prelude to tomorrow’s Sprint Cup Series’ running of the Daytona 500, Tony Stewart was able to find victory lane for Joe Gibbs Racing in a wild race at the Camping World 300 at Daytona International Raceway, giving Toyota its third NASCAR victory in the last two days. After Brad Keselowski brought out a late-race caution by spinning and collecting several other cars, including Steve Wallace, Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick, Jason Keller, and others, racing resumed with only six laps to go. The Gibbs cars of Stewart and Kyle Busch were able to outrun Dale Earnhardt Jr, Brian …read more
Fantasy Preview: Daytona

As if the weekly uncertainty of engine failures, chassis setups, and oil spills on the track didn’t already make it hard enough for you to set your fantasy racing lineups each week, the Daytona 500 is especially tough to prepare for because of the factor that must be taken out … momentum. Sure, we know how these drivers ran in 2007 and how much the progressed or regressed from 2006, but does that really tell us how they’ll do in ’08? Well, luckily for you, I’m here to provide you with the same service I’ve provided for every Cup race …read more
