So, Borderlands came out yesterday and I still haven’t played it.
I didn’t pre-order the game and I didn’t rush out to buy it. I’m still holding an artistic grudge against Borderlands developers for changing the artistic direction mid-streams but now it’s time to suck it up and get on with it.

Gearbox Software has been working for years on Borderlands, its next big thing. Borderlands is a massive, open world RPG, set on a remote planet that doesn’t take itself entirely seriously. It’s been described as Mad Max meets Fallout 3, and the description isn’t far off.

Borderlands has a New Look

The artistic direction of Borderlands has changed.
I like both of them.
The original look [check out the screenshot from back in May] was pretty, a bit grungy and maybe even gauzy looking.
The new look has crisp edges, sharply outlined character and the gauzy look has been replaced with almost a comic book thing.
You judge for yourself which you think is “better”. I feel they stand on their own artistically and are hard to compare. Maybe I’m just making excuses cause I like both of them?
