He had a bonus the Giants had been holding on to, saying that Burress didn’t earn it (since it didn’t play.) Seems reasonable, right?

But with the NFL, things having to do with players and their bad behaviors are seldom logical. This week an arbitrator said Burress could have $1 million out of the $4.25 million signing bonus. The million will help cover Burress’ costs after getting suspended for the rest of the season after the shooting ($823,529) and the fine of one week’s pay ($205,882).

Essentially this is like rewarding Burress for shooting himself, disrupting his team’s season, and reinforcing the bad behavior which all too often gets the attention in this league. This decision sets a bad precedent.

Plaxico Burress Gets a Cool Million

It is JUST not Plaxico Burress‘ year. He’s had the problems with the ref, problems with tossing a ball into the stands, problems with shooting himself, and now… this.

Apparently he rear-ended a woman in May, and like the careless young lad he is he failed to pay his car insurance! And now he’s being sued.

Miami resident Alise Smith says Plaxico hit her car from behind and now seeks $15,000 for “medical bills, lost wages, and damage to her car.”

Plaxico, whose salary is $7,850,000, had failed to pay the last three premiums (to Allstate, his insurance company) on his Benz. His insurance had expired three days before the accident.

Yeah, definitely not Plaxico’s year.

Plaxico Burress Sued for Car Accident, and He Has No Insurance

The Giants have their issues these days, what with the Plaxico problems and all. So you’d think the team would appreciate any fan support it gets.

But… apparently not. The Giants booted out Sondra Fortunato (shown above) because she was wearing “a Santa Claus outfit, a tiara, fishnet stockings, a bathing suit bottom and high-heeled boots.” She also had a “suitcase and two 11-by-17 signs reading “Go Giants” and “Have a No Guns Christmas,” which undoubtedly referred to Plaxico Burress.

I don’t have a photo of Sondra with her Santa Class outfit on (oh, how I wish), but she does claim there was nothing too risque about her outfit. I have a feeling Sondra’s definition of risque is probably a bit different than yours or mine, but hey, I’m inclined to believe her. I tune in every week and see chicks hanging out in bikini tops…. so whatever.

Still, I’d like to know how the process of her getting the boot happened. Who exactly went to complain? Or did someone see her on TV?

Sondra, like most other ladies with high self-esteem, figured that other women in the stands “got jealous and complained.”

Who am I to argue with that?

I say if you want to strut your stuff for your favorite team, Sondra, go for it! We at Gossip on Sports salute you!

Giants Superfan Booted Out of Game

As we told you, Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg Friday night. Here’s what happened. “An onlooker saw Burress near the V.I.P. area of the club holding a drink in his left hand and fidgeting his right hand in the area of the waistline of his pants. The witness then heard a single “pop” sound before hearing Burress say, “Take me to the hospital.” ~source

But this being a Plaxico problem, it isn’t just the matter of the shooting which has him in trouble. There’s the matter of the gun – which Plaxico had illegally.

Then there’s the issue of no one calling the police after the shooting. The Giants didn’t call. Plaxico didn’t call. And even the folks from the hospital didn’t call!

How’d they hear about the shooting, then? From TV! Like the rest of us.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg criticized everybody involved, saying “The hospital didn’t call and the Giants didn’t call, and the Giants should have picked up the phone right away, as good corporate citizens.” ~source

So what’s a Plaxico to do?

One thing he should definitely do is hire a good lawyer. The photo I have of him above is from him leaving the 17th Precinct in Manhattan. In cuffs, of course. He’s been arraigned on two separate counts of a weapons charge.

I’d say “what next” for Plaxico but as we all know he likes to keep us guessing!

Oh the Problems of Plaxico

Plaxico Burress has made headlines once again. The Giants receiver “accidentally shot himself in the right thigh on Friday night, FOXSports.com has learned, not long after being ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury.” ~source

There’s a lot we don’t know yet. Apparently the shooting took place in a nightclub, and that the injuries are not life threatening.

Plaxico has had tons of problems this year: a “lengthy contract dispute,” a suspension, and a couple major fines. He apparently missed a team meeting (although he said it was a family emergency, still he could have picked up the phone and told someone), and then there was that awful game in October when he “abused an official and tossed a ball into the stands.” ~source

Temper, temper.

Plaxico had a hamstring injury anyways and was planning to miss the Giants game tomorrow. Now, obviously, he’ll be out for much longer depending on his injury.

What have we learned here today? That NFL players and guns simply do not mix.

Plaxico Burress Shot Himself in the Leg

Oh those crazy Giants. They’re having such a great year that they are playing pranks on each other right and left. The mood is happy in the locker room these days.

But sometimes, being too happy gets boring, apparently. The guys must have decided that playing pranks on each other just wasn’t good enough. They decided to step it up a notch and play a joke on one of the player’s wives.

So if you were trying to decide which player’s wife you could prank, which one would you choose? Hmmmm…… how about…. the quarterback’s?

The Giant’s linemen apparently chose Abby Manning (Eli’s wife). Here’s what went down, according to one source:

“It was family day at the facility, where guys have their wives and kids come out to visit, and we got ahold of Eli’s phone and sent a couple of texts,” Giants guard Rich Seubert explained. “We said, ‘Please come. It would really mean a lot to me.’ So she showed up, which was a total surprise to Eli. She had some stuff to do and didn’t really want to be there, so needless to say she wasn’t thrilled.”

Hahahahaha—- HILIAROUS prank!

Is it just me? Or does this seem like the dumbest prank ever played on ANYONE? Hey, if you’re going to prank a quarterback’s wife, especially a pretty blonde wife, wouldn’t you choose something really big? I mean, really, you know you are taking a risk by choosing the QB’s wife to begin with, why not make it worthwhile. Why not pull a prank where she herself can’t help laughing at?
