The History of Video Games in two minutes
I’m currently watching a video on the history of video games by YouTube user applemctom, and my wife, Joyce, keeps asking me why I know majority of the games featured in the video. I guess my video games addiction is finally showing, eh? To test my mettle, I tried to list down in order all the games shown in the two-minute footage. Unfortunately, I didn’t get them all. GP2X: Homebrew heaven!
James over at Retro Thing has written an interesting piece about the $179 wonder handheld from Korea; Gamepark’s GP2X.
We’ve all heard some good (and bad) things about this little machine, and we’ve all heard about efforts to make homebrew gaming possible on said device, but while my back was turned the homebrew scene on the GP2X has gone stupid crazy.
As listed in James’s article, the following systems now have emulators on Gamepark’s machine:
SNES
Mega Drive
MAME
Commodore 64
Atari ST
All in all it appears to be shaping up to be a very worthy competitor for the homebrew enthusiast’s platform of choice… It’s fun pwning …read more
