Bill Gwatney, the chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party, died at 3:59 this afternoon. A gunman entered his office this morning and shot him several times.
The gunman’s identity is still unknown.

Little Rock police officers are on the scene of a shooting at the Arkansas state Democratic party headquarters. Reports say that the state chairman, Bill Gwatney, is hospitalized in critical condition. The police apprehended a suspect in the shooting after a chase ending near Sheridan.
According to Today’s THV, a local station:
A sales clerk at a flower shop across street from the party
headquarters said that around noon, Gwatney’s secretary ran into the
shop and asked someone to call 911. She said a man had come into the
party headquarters and shot Gwatney multiple times.
