I just received an e-mail with some great news. There are two new, revamped maps available for Halo 2 on Xbox and Xbox 360.

1. Reincarnated as Tombstone, navigate the ancient battlegrounds of Hang ‘Em High (the Halo: Combat Evolved classic), modernized for a newly dedicated Halo militia.
2. Welcome to Desolation. Originally known as the death match centric Derelict, this restructured combat zone is now faster paced sporting new graphics and effects.

Okay, I’ve really got to get my wi-fi hooked back up to my Xbox 360. Not that I’ve got anywhere near the concept of free time, but I need to start practicing and warming up for the release of Halo 3 and these new maps are just the ticket.

The website (which is where I got the photos above) says these maps are supposed to be available April 17th. Why am I just now finding out about them via e-mail.

Has anyone played them yet? What do you think?

New Maps for Halo 2

Could the proposed Halo movie crash into oblivion like a Covenant Wraith with a rocket up it’s rear end?

News reports state that production of the Halo movie has been halted until further notice. It seems Universal and Fox aren’t willing to pony-up the amount of money it would take to

“fulfill the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big screen.”

I’m sorry, but do they realize how popular this movie would be? Granted it would be a mega-budget movie, but I think the return on the investment from ticket sales, promotional items, toys, fast food branding, etc. If I were Bill Gates, I’d be funding this sucker myself and hiring some people to take the place of the studios.

Hollywood Halo Highchief Halted

“We will be in India before our competition has launched in any other market,” he said, referring to rival video game industry leader Sony Corp.’s (6758.T) planned debut in the United States of its PS3 in November.

“It is estimated there are 1.6 million gamers in India who spend at least 2 hours playing everyday,” said Mohit Anand, country manager at Microsoft’s India entertainment and devices division.

Wow! I remember when I had that much time to play. I haven’t played Halo 2 Live in forever, ever since I upgraded my router to a Netgear “G”. My Linksys Xbox access point doesn’t work with it anymore. Need to get that fixed soon. I need to get worked up and practicing for Halo 3. I wonder what the Halo 3 Live experience will be like?
